This has 20 tracks from her 1964-68 stint with United Artists, concentrating on the ten or so singles she made during that era, with a few LP cuts, a previously unreleased 1964 version of "As Long As You're Happy" (more famous as done by Sandie Shaw), and a rare Ford Cars promotional single. Jones was an okay but not great singer. These sides, some of them anyway, are most noteworthy for the inventive pop/rock-soul-orchestral production, particularly those by Charles Blackwell, who also handled Francoise Hardy and P.J. Proby during the era. Her 1964 debut single, "It's All Because of You," is stunning and strange for the time with its ghostly echoing percussive rattles, ominous melody, and brilliant orchestration; it's like Cilla Black's "You're My World" with more ambition. Francoise Hardy fans should note that the 1965 cuts "Don't Come Any Closer" and "Just Call and I'll Be There" are the English originals of tunes subsequently covered by Hardy in French (as "Non Ce N'est Pas Un Reve," and "Le Temps Des Souvenirs" respectively).

If you have a good or almost good 60's music collection, this album will help round off your collection & fill the gaps. Really good to hear the actress Diana Dors - a very under rated singing voice & BB - even if the words are in French. Yes, all in all a good, slightly different, sixties album, well worth the money. We get 60 good quality tracks from the years 1959 to 1962 spread across the 3cd's. The tracks that have been chosen are very good, they range from early U.S soul tracks, chirpy teen pop to Classy Brit and French offerings. There are some class acts on offer - Etta James, Barbara Lyn, Julie Grant to name a few. It's nice to hear a few very early outings of Nancy Sinatra (a couple of them aren't bad) and it's always great to hear anything by Francoise Hardy and BB. Overall, It's a neat looking package with quite good sound quality. There is no booklet, just a one sided into with a few small pics spread over the inside.

To celebrate the 21st anniversary of their debut release, Blur s fourth album The Great Escape has now been remastered from the original tapes by Frank Arkwright, with the remastering overseen by legendary original producer, Stephen Street. Whilst Parklife took Blur stratospheric, The Great Escape maintained the band s success with their second successive No 1 entry into the album charts, with the September 1995 release going on to sell three times platinum. Accompanying the remastered album, the bonus disc of The Great Escape Special Edition crams in 18 tracks, including all the b-sides from all formats of the Country House, The Universal, Stereotypes and Charmless Man singles. Among these b-sides are nestled a duet version of To The End between Damon and Francoise Hardy, the Live It! remix of Entertain Me and four tracks taken from the now legendary 1995 Blur gig at Mile End Stadium.
