Funk Generation

Habibi Funk is back with another album from Casablanca. Completely unreleased album which was recorded in Morocco in 1973 by three generation family band. A unique blend of Gnawa, Funk and Rock. Traditional Moroccan music meets electronic guitars and dense layers of percussion by a band that used to run in the same circles as Fadoul (And actually wrote one of his songs).

Bob Shad was one of the greatest music producers of the 20th century, having worked with all the music giants you can think of, from Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie to Sarah Vaughan, Lightnin' Hopkins, The Platters and Janis Joplin to name just a few. Recorded between 1971 and 73, the Fender-Rhodes-drenched tracks on Innerpeace showcase Shad's unique Deep Jazz sound.

Ever since joining The Shadows in 1961, London-born drummer and percussionist Brian Bennett has been an institution on the UK's music scene. After leaving The Shads, he embarked on a fascinating solo career carving a unique role as a arranger, conductor and record producer, composer for film and TV. In 1978, inspired by the Disco boom, and particularly the space age Disco records emanating from the continent, Brian recorded what he described as "A Journey Into Discoid Funk". Housed in a striking, colourful sleeve depicting - appropriately enough - a spaceship, VOYAGE was a departure for Bennett, serving up infectious, cosmic disco/jazz/funk with a nod towards his earlier, funky library work. Fast forward to the noughties, when DJs, crate diggers and hip-hop artists are busy sampling old funk and disco records, a new generation discovered VOYAGE. These new fans of the LP had no knowledge of Brian's past pedigree: they just heard funky breaks and beats, ensuring original copies of VOYAGE are now valuable. Released with Brian's blessing and overseen by his musician/composer son Warren, this 2-CD edition of VOYAGE boasts the addition of previously unissued working mixes of the album, plus the rare 7" edits from the single 'Pendulum Force'. Key track 'Solstice' has been sampled by around 60 different artists, including Kanye West, Nas, Madlib. Other tracks from the album to have been sampled include 'Ocean Glide' and 'Chain Reaction'.

2013 two CD collection. Legendary keyboardist and composer Bob James is one of the major architects of the '70s jazz-funk sound, and is also notorious among a younger generation raised on hip hop. His early albums have been plundered for samples countless times, and his tunes "Nautilus" and "(Take Me To The) Mardi Gras" are two of the most revered b-boy classics, acknowledged as musical foundations of the hip hop movement. Amazingly, until now there has been no collection that focused on the funkiest side of the keyboardist's vast catalog, the years when his instrument of choice was the classic Fender Rhodes electric piano.

Young NRG founder Stefano Ricci (AKA Stex) has been producing and releasing music since the 1990s, both on his own and with regular collaborator Teo Ederle under the Dasya guise.
Stefano Ricci (Aka Dj Stex ) is one of the break, Nujazz's ,Chill italian makers, a forefront when all began with Teo Ederle and his crew during 1988, known as the youngest NRG Posse. He's the figure behind Dasya. (He's him behind Dasya)… He arguably produced more chill music tracks than other breaker's DNB and launched into a worldwide many musical genres. Stex carved himself a great career, laying his roots firmly within the realm of Nujazz scene.

Funk You Very Much is a 1992 Prince bootleg CD of a 1992 show in the Netherlands. Since it is a 1992 show, it is a Prince & The New Power Generation performance. This disc was released by the Wall Of Sound label.
