This innovative programme, created at Ambronay Festival in 2009 by the Argentine Leonardo García Alarcón chief sees musicians alternate between baroque and modern instruments to interpret the most beautiful pages of Astor Piazzólla (Milonga del Angel, Ballada para un loco) and Claudio Monteverdi (Lamento della ninfa, Orfeo). During the extensive live tour of this project in 2009, members of the audience pointed out that in the end they didn't know where Monteverdi stopped and Piazzolla began.

Live In Montreal was recorded live on October 25th, 2015, at Stereo, a club known for it's after-hours parties and marathon sets (Digweed actually played for 11 hours that night.). In among the 81 featured tracks, there are efforts from Sei A, Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons, Agoria and Adam Beyer, as well as three Recondite cuts. "It's hard to pinpoint one particular highlight as I was loving every part of the night with the energy from the build-up and the reaction I was getting from the floor," he says. "It's really important on nights like this that you pace yourself so you don't give the crowd everything too early; you always want them to keep wanting more. I remember looking at my watch around 9 AM and thinking I have not really started banging it yet, but the place was going nuts and over the next four hours the energy in the room hit another level. It's a real pleasure to play on that sound system for that long."

For most of the early '70s, the New Riders of the Purple Sage™ (yes, the name is trademark-protected) were the successful offshoots of the Grateful Dead. Although they never remotely approached the success or longevity of the Dead, they attracted a considerable audience through their association with Jerry Garcia, Phil Lesh, and Mickey Hart, whose fans couldn't be satisfied with only the Dead's releases – the New Riders never reached much beyond that audience, but the Deadheads loved them as substitutes (along with Garcia's periodic solo projects) for the real article.

Bear's Sonic Journals: Sing Out! is a three-CD live album of acoustic music by various artists. It features performances by Jerry Garcia & Bob Weir, Country Joe McDonald, Kate Wolf, Rosalie Sorrels, and the Rhythm Devils. It was recorded at the Berkeley Community Theater in Berkeley, California on April 25, 1981. The album includes a 50-page booklet of essays and photos. It is scheduled to be released on February 23, 2024.

With his ongoing membership in the Allman Brothers Band, Gov't Mule, Phil Lesh & Friends, and the Dead, guitarist/singer Warren Haynes doesn't really have time for a solo career. He did put out a solo album, Tales of Ordinary Madness, in 1993, but his group gigs provide him plenty of opportunities to write and play, and except for a live EP compilation, Lone, in 2003, he hasn't otherwise bothered to issue solo discs. Yet while performing at the 2003 Bonnaroo Festival, he followed a Saturday night set with the Allman Brothers Band with a Sunday afternoon solo set, accompanying himself on acoustic and electric guitar, and here it is on CD.
