When the pair answer a hit-and-run call, they find themselves face to face with a familiar figure: Cliff Steele, AKA Robotman. “It gets weirder from here,” writer Gerard Way had to say about the book, with artist Nick Derington gripping tightly on the wheel of the ambulance. The pair’s only communication? Shouting out of the open windows while at high velocity. Who needs a new roommate? Who names a cat “Lotion”? And when do we get to see all those muscles?

Megan Boyer was a bully whom everyone was glad was almost dead, and now Loma has to survive High School and navigate the consequences of the life she didn’t live with the ever-growing and uncontrollable madness at her side. Not to mention that there are people back on her homeworld who might just want Shade’s coat back.
Written by Cecil Castellucci (THE PLAIN JANES, Moving Target: A Princess Leia Adventure), drawn by Marley Zarcone (EFFIGY) and overseen by Gerard Way, SHADE, THE CHANGING GIRL starts a whole new chapter in the story of one of comics’ most unique series.

From all the hype generated by its previews one would think that this ten-issue miniseries is another one of those titles being published by Vertigo and that one would easily expect another great yarn. No, and yes. It is quite unlike other Vertigo titles; it is a subtly poetic, poignant and intensely personal look into the psyche of a person who longs to be someone and somewhere he is not. And it more than lives up to expectations. Such a transcendent work by the creative team of Gabriel Ba and Fabio Moon, perfectly using the medium of comic books to become, and rise above, comic books. A more than worthy addition to the illustrious Vertigo library.

La véritable grande escroquerie du rock and roll , c’est pas du côté des Pistols, enfin de Mac Laren et son film « The Great Rock and Roll Swindle » que vous la trouverez… c’est plutôt en Belgique qu’il faut la chercher, plus précisément chez Lou Deprijck et Yvan Lacomblez, deux bruxellois pur jus. Si leurs noms, là, tout de suite, ne vous disent rien, en revanche, il y a de fortes chances que vous vous soyez déjà trémoussés sur le hit interplanétaire dont ils sont les heureux (et depuis fortunés…) créateurs : “Ca plane pour moi”!
