Worlds Apart is the fourth studio album by the Canadian progressive rock band Saga and was originally released in 1981. The album has been released with several different covers. Frontman Michael Sadler stated in the band's video DVD Silhouette that Hine told him to stop "singing like a choir boy" and actually had him climb up to the roof of a barn located on the farm in England where the recording was done in order to get the proper passion out of Sadler for the song "On The Loose". Sadler's vocal style was noticeably different on Worlds Apart than on the first three Saga albums—a style that he kept in successive performances with the band.

Trumpet and organ - and yet conceivably far removed from the usual of this popular line-up: that is "O man, pay attention!" - not just an eye-catcher, but program, when the world-class trumpeter Reinhold Friedrich and the Essen cathedral organist Sebastian Küchler-Blessing contemporary works, which as A reaction to the horrors of the Third Reich, placed in dialogue with arrangements of romantic works: in addition to the eponymous slow movement from Mahler's Third, "Kol Nidrei" by Max Bruch and Brahms' "O Tod, wie bitter bist Du" can be heard. Zsigmond Szathmáry, who was highly esteemed by György Ligeti, wrote an “…ad memoriam…” about the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin especially for this production.

A London-based new wave group that managed to sustain a successful career in America for several years in the mid-'80s, the Fixx always flirted with the mainstream with their catchy, keyboard-driven pop. Formed by college friends vocalist/keyboardist Cy Curnin and drummer Adam Woods in the early '80s, the pair advertised in the music press for additional members; the remaining members of the group – guitarist Jamie West-Oram, keyboardist Rupert Greenall, and bassist Charlie Barret – all responded to the ad. Taking the name the Portraits, the band recorded a single for Ariola Records, "Hazards in the Home," which failed to gather much attention. Within a year, the band had changed its name to the Fixx and recorded "Lost Planes," the single that led to a record contract with MCA.
