2017 three CD collection. Huey Lewis and the News are truly one of America's great rock 'n' roll bands. As they enter their 38th year together, their contagious brand of music has outlasted countless trends, and is as fresh today as ever. Formed from two rival Bay Area bands in 1979, they continue to thrill audiences worldwide, selling over 20 million albums in the process, earning them the right to mark their place on the pop history map.

Huey Pierce Smith (January 26, 1934 – February 13, 2023), known as Huey "Piano" Smith, was an American rhythm-and-blues pianist whose sound was influential in the development of rock and roll.

UMG will remaster, expand and reissue the six albums the group cut between 1980 and 1991 for the Chrysalis and EMI labels. Each album is sourced from new DSD masters from original U.S. analog tapes, transferred in 24-bit high definition and feature CD-sized reprints of the original inner LP sleeves and Japanese obi strips. (The outer jackets have been replicated as well, with 1982's Picture This utilizing an alternate design released in Japan at the time.) There's 44 bonus tracks among the reissues, from tracks that appeared on previous expanded editions and international pressings to versions making their debuts on CD for the first time. (Sports, the group's 1983 breakthrough, becomes a 2CD set in honor of its 40th anniversary!) Also coming is a CD/DVD Greatest Hits: Japanese Singles Collection that will include 19 of the group's singles released during this time in Japan plus a DVD of 23 rare and commercially unreleased promo videos.

On their eponymous debut, Huey Lewis and the News essentially act as a pub rock band, turning out hard-driving covers and originals in a workmanlike fashion.

Small World was another platinum hit for Huey Lewis & the News, but the album was noticeably weaker than their previous three records. Lewis tries to position himself as a socially conscious rocker – no less than three tracks have the word "world" in their title – writing songs about the perilous state of the environment and urging everybody to live together peacefully, since "there ain't no livin' in a perfect world." Such sanctimonious and simple lyrical platitudes would be acceptable if the band had written a set of catchy pop to support them.

Sports was one of the rare mainstream pop/rock albums where everything worked – the songs were catchy, the sound was inviting, and it all sounded perfect on the radio.

Time Flies is a greatest hits album by American rock band Huey Lewis and the News, released in 1996. The album also features four previously unreleased tracks. This marks the first time "The Power of Love" was available on an International Huey Lewis and the News album- it had previously been available on the UK release of the Fore! album. The song "So Little Kindness" was later included on the 2001 album Plan B because Huey Lewis felt it needed a second chance.
