My Father's Place was a music venue located in Roslyn, New York. Many of the concerts organized and broadcast by the FM radio station WLIR were recorded at the club, some of them are available as official releases and bootlegs. During its 16-year run (May 1971-May 1987), the club hosted an estimated 3,000 artists performing 6,000 shows! Johnny Winter got taped just after the release of his classic 1978 album White, Hot & Blue. This epic performance at My Father's Place on September 8, 1978, captures the Texan blues great in fiery form, backed by new cohorts Jon Paris (bass, harmonica) and Bobby Torello (drums). Winter turns in remarkably extended performances of numerous tracks, including what might just be the longest version of "Bony Moronie" ever recorded! The complete original radio broadcast is presented here with digitally remastered sound, and comes complete with background notes and rare images. The sound is not perfect but it's good and better than a bootleg recorded in the audience.
