Dream Syndicate was an alternative rock band from Los Angeles, California active from 1981 to 1989. The band was associated with the Paisley Underground music movement.

Featuring celebrated jazz figures such as Dick Morrissey, Tubby Hayes, Don Rendell, Ian Carr, Joe Harriott and Graham Collier alongside bands such as Colosseum, Satisfaction and Keef Hartley Band that merged jazz and rock. This box set tells a story of British Jazz at a time of cultural change, a period of experimentation and transformation in music, from the swinging hard bop of The Dick Morrissey Quartet to the pioneering jazz rock fusion of Nucleus (featuring Ian Carr), If (who included Dick Morrissey) and Brian Auger's Oblivion Express.

"Living Eyes" is the Bee Gees' 16th original album (14th internationally), released in 1981. The Bee Gees turned away from the disco sound that was prominent on their work in the middle-to-late 1970s with this album. However, the album was not a commercial success, perhaps due to their being so strongly associated with disco. It sold 750,000 copies worldwide, compared to 16 million copies of their previous studio album, "Spirits Having Flown", in 1979. While it did not sell well in either the UK or the US, the album itself was a Top 40 hit in the majority of territories in which it saw wide release. It would be the band's final album on RSO Records. The label would be absorbed into Polydor and subsequently discontinued.

Since moving to Germany, Shannon Barnett has become very active in the local scene. Her quartet, featuring Stefan Karl Schmid (tenor saxophone), David Helm (bass) and Fabian Arends (drums) was nominated as a seim-finalist in the 2017 Neuer Deutscher Jazzpreis. They have performed widely in Germany, including at the Acht Brücken and Winterjazz Festivals, the Peng Festival and IG Jazz in Mannheim. In 2016, they toured Australia, performing at the Wangaratta Festival of Jazz and Sydney Women's Jazz Festival.
