THE COMPLETE ALBUMS COLLECTION 1957 - 1962 Since he first played professionally, Kenny Burrell has been one of the most respected guitarists in all of jazz. He has been referred to as the greatest guitarist in the world by B.B. King and the grand master of jazz guitar by Dizzy Gillespie, and he has influenced the work of Jimi Hendrix, Pat Metheny and a host of other respected players. With his direct approach that blends elements of jazz and blues in an impeccable manner, Burrell s work has graced more than 90 albums recorded under his own name, and he has featured on many more as sideman to some of the other most influential figures in jazz, including Billie Holiday, Jimmy Smith, Louis Armstrong, Chet Baker, Stan Getz, Dizzy Gillespie, Coleman Hawkins, Randy Weston, Yusuf Lateef and Sonny Rollins. This four disc box set, encompassing an essential half decade in the staggering career of this extraordinary musician, is testament to the ongoing appeal and quality of Kenny Burrell s sound, and illustrates why he remains a true jazz legend more than 50 years since the release of these LPs. Containing eight complete, remastered albums and over five hours of Burrell s sublime, soulful playing, this set provides the ideal selection of the man s music, and reveals the roots of just about every skilled guitarist that has come along since.

Blue Note Revisited is a 2004 remix CD honoring Blue Note Records. Released on 20 April, 2004, each track was recreated by well known hip-hop and electronic music producers, including Dilla, Kyoto Jazz Massive, DJ Spinna, Madlib, Jazzanova, Kenny Dope, and many more.

Trumpeter Kenny Dorham was a significant presence in the bop and hard bop scenes, a musician whose distinctive, lyrical style had been apparent from his work in the late '40s with Charlie Parker's quintet. The year 1963 was especially good for him. He had just returned from a trip to Brazil where he had been absorbing the bossa nova, and he had formed a musical partnership with Joe Henderson, a powerful young tenor saxophonist whose rugged sound and coiling lines were an ideal complement to Dorham's often subtler approach. This session is the first in a series of dates that would pair the two, and the fifteen minute "Una Mas," a percolating mix of hard bop sonorities and a samba beat, was the first recorded example of Dorham's distinctive exploration of bossa nova (his "Blue Bossa" would become a jazz standard). Pianist Herbie Hancock, bassist Butch Warren, and drummer Tony Williams all take naturally to the new beat, handling it as effectively as they do "Straight Ahead."

Pianist Kenny Barron celebrates his 75th birthday with his Blue Note debut, 2018's sophisticated quintet album, Concentric Circles. An 11-time Grammy-nominated artist, Barron is a journeyman performer with over five decades of highly regarded work under his belt, including stints with titans like Dizzy Gillespie, James Moody, Stan Getz, and many others. He brings all of that experience to bear here with a largely original set of swinging, harmonically nuanced compositions. Backing him are his longtime bandmates bassist Kiyoshi Kitagawa and drummer Johnathan Blake, along with added quintet members trumpeter Mike Rodriguez and saxophonist Dayna Stephens.

Although never formally signed, an oral agreement between John Coltrane and Blue Note Records founder Alfred Lion was indeed honored on Blue Train – Coltrane's only collection of sides as a principal artist for the venerable label. The disc is packed solid with sonic evidence of Coltrane's innate leadership abilities. He not only addresses the tunes at hand, but also simultaneously reinvents himself as a multifaceted interpreter of both hard bop as well as sensitive balladry – touching upon all forms in between.

"Back to Avalon" is the sixth solo album from soft rock singer Kenny Loggins. Released in 1988, it yielded the hit singles "Nobody's Fool (Theme from Caddyshack II)" (a #8 hit in the U.S.), "I'm Gonna Miss You," "Tell Her," and "Meet Me Halfway" (a #11 hit in the U.S.), a ballad which had already been a Top 40 hit the previous year through the movie Over the Top.
