Inspired by Ovid's Metamorphoses and Calvino's deconstructive analysis of the classic Roman recasting of Greek myths, John Aylward's Celestial Forms and Stories establishes musical analogs to Ovid's way of depicting the world. Featuring musicians from Klangforum Wien in chamber formations, Celestial Forms and Stories encapsulates the transformative nature of myth, constantly being reimagined and reinterpreted over generations and retellings.

Wojciech Blazejczyks music feeds on scientific theories, internet streams and civilization waves or scrap; it sometimes looks like a nerds diary. Full of different colours and fonts, notes, charts, exclamations and underlined words. This diary is the composers reaction to what surrounds him every day.

Aleksandra Gryka is undoubtedly one of the most enigmatic and fascinating figures of the young generation of Polish composers. She does not comment on her works, does not give interviews, and does not provide critics with an insight into her scores (which even causes the occasional international scandal).

Cezary Duchnowski, although perceived as a specialised composer with consciously chosen specialisation, is very open to extremely versatile activity in the musical field. Apart from absolute music, he's also keenly interested in relations between music and the word, music and theatre (or rather performance art) as well as visual arts in the wide sense.

Throughout her life, Lucia Dlugoszewski (1925 – 2000) was overshadowed by great masters of the New York music scene – even though she had been awarded a number of prestigious prizes and – in 1977 – was the first woman ever to receive the Koussevitzky International Recording Award. Today, almost 25 years after her death, the composer, lyric poet, inventor of musical instruments, choreographer and stage director is enjoying a renaissance.

The Klangforum Wien is an Austrian chamber orchestra, based in Vienna at the Konzerthaus, which specialises in contemporary classical music.

Annette Bik, violinist with the Klangforum Wien, is familiar with both early and contemporary music. On her first solo album, “Double Bach”, she presents a fascinating experiment: she asked leading contemporary composers to write a double of each movement of Johann Sebastian Bach’s famous “Partita in h-Moll”. The idea seemed even more compelling since Bach also added a variation, or double, to each movement of his suite.

When Tora Augestad releases a musical portrait together with the Oslo Philharmonic, there’s nothing less than Kurt Weill, Marcus Paus, and Charles Ives on the menu. Augestad's repertoire for “Portraying Passion” takes the musical qualities of modernist, individualistic composers and places them squarely within the context of the 21st century.
