As legend has it, Led Zeppelin never played the singles game. That's not entirely true – "Whole Lotta Love" was a gold-selling, Top Five single, while "Immigrant Song," "Black Dog," and "D'yer Mak'er" all went Top 20. But since their reputation was built in part through album rock radio, and since they never released "Stairway to Heaven" as a single, the impression that they were above hits and singles grew and grew…

EXTRAORDINARY LED ZEPPELIN SHOW FROM LONDON’S ALBERT HALL • Led Zeppelin's 1970 United Kingdom Tour commenced on 7 January and concluded on 17 February. At all but one of the concerts on the tour the band did not use a support act, although Barclay James Harvest did perform an opening set at the Edinburgh Usher Hall gig on 7 February. • Arguably best known for the band's performance at the Royal Albert Hall on 9th January - Jimmy Page’s Birthday. The great man himself later stated: “The Royal Albert Hall was, at the time, the largest and most prestigious gig in London." Band's manager, Peter Grant, arranged for this performance to be professionally filmed by fashionable directors Peter Whitehead and Stanley Dorfman for a proposed documentary project. However, the film was not officially released at the time because the footage was reportedly shot at the wrong speed. A 40-minute cut was prepared but was deemed by the band to be of unsatisfactory quality. • With this legendary concert still being the subject of a live radio broadcast, it remains surprising that to date a CD of the event has not been issued. However, all this changes with the release of this superb new 2-Disc-Set, containing the entire, extraordinary concert.

On their first two albums, Led Zeppelin unleashed a relentless barrage of heavy blues and rockabilly riffs, but Led Zeppelin III provided the band with the necessary room to grow musically. While there are still a handful of metallic rockers, III is built on a folky, acoustic foundation that gives the music extra depth…

Led Zeppelin had a fully formed, distinctive sound from the outset, as their eponymous debut illustrates. Taking the heavy, distorted electric blues of Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, and Cream to an extreme, Zeppelin created a majestic, powerful brand of guitar rock constructed around simple, memorable riffs and lumbering rhythms. But the key to the group's attack was subtlety: it wasn't just an onslaught of guitar noise, it was shaded and textured, filled with alternating dynamics and tempos. As Led Zeppelin proves, the group was capable of such multi-layered music from the start…

Led Zeppelin III is the 1970 third album by British hard rock band Led Zeppelin. This is the first compact disc pressing on Atlantic released in 1987 and is "un-remastered", or a CD mastered from whatever "master" tape was in their tape library at the time. It could've been a 5th, 6th, or even 7th generation safety dub but that's how tape archiving was at the time. Later editions would involve remastering it from the best tapes digitally. This is also the Columbia House Record Club pressing with the A2- prefix in the catalog number.

The Complete Led Zeppelin collects the eight studio albums the foursome released between 1969-79, plus the posthumous ninth and final studio album Coda, released in 1982, after the death of drummer John Bonham. This is the core of ‘70s classic rock that travels far beyond the definition. While Led Zeppelin were clearly among the early progenitors of ‘Heavy Metal,’ back when it was considered to be loud, blues-based music, they hardly stayed in one place long enough to be defined as anything other than Led Zeppelin. They mastered hard rock with their lead-off track “Good Times, Bad Times” and nailed British folk on III and “The Battle Of Evermore.” IV became their centerpiece, every song a classic, with “Stairway to Heaven” serving as their national anthem. Houses of the Holy and Presence emphasized their ability to groove, while their double-album Physical Graffiti was the prototypical sprawling double album that all major rock artists tried once. In Through the Out Door explored synthesizers and featured everything from epic Zeppelin to old school rock ’n’ roll and the heartbreaking “All My Love.”
