Hey now this is a great cd and sort of holds time to its original release of 1968. This is the first album post-Winwood era and they did a fantastic job for just coming off a devastating blow of a major change in musical direction…
Despite some future weak LP’s or mainstream/cashing machine approximations, there’s no way to ignore the fact that Brian Auger is a master groover and one of the first to have successfully plunged in Fusion (taken in its wider meaning) waters; on the other hand Julie Driscoll appears as having always functioned as a creative/inspirational muse for our man, in that all their collaborations bore tasteful fruits; that said this album is in my opinion here to prove it!
Box set containing 4 jewel case CDs (TOCP-7149, TOCP-7150, TOCP-7151, TOCP-7152) and two booklets. The Ventures are an American instrumental rock band, formed in 1958 in Tacoma, Washington, by Don Wilson and Bob Bogle. The band, a quartet for most of its existence, helped to popularize the electric guitar in the United States and across the world during the 1960s. While their popularity in the United States waned in the 1970s, the group remains especially revered in Japan, where they tour regularly to this day. The classic lineup of the band consisted of Wilson (rhythm guitar), Bogle (initially lead guitar, switched to bass), Nokie Edwards (initially bass, switched to lead guitar), and Mel Taylor (drums).
