Singer-songwriter Jim Croce’s untimely death in an aeroplane crash (in September 1973, aged just 30) came at a point in his career when he seemed set for a lengthy and rewarding career. This box is the first time all the studio albums have ever been brought together in a single package, from the self-released debut ‘Facets’, recorded and released for just $500 – a wedding gift from Jim’s parents – to ‘I Got A Name’ which was released posthumously after his death whilst on tour promoting the previous album.

Keeping it Westcoast for just a little bit longer as I tell you about the recent Japanese reissue of the classic Dwayne Ford album "Needless Freaking". The word "Classic" was made for this album. With a cast of musicians that includes David Foster, Steve Lukather, Jay Graydon, Mike and Jeff Porcaro and Mike Baird; a production that sounds like a million dollars (courtesy of Ford, Foster and Ken Friesen) and eight of the best songs to ever grace the Westcoast genre, this album should have made Dwayne Ford a household name, or at least on a par with the likes of Christopher Cross. Sadly it didn't. While the Inferior Cross went onto superstardom (thanks to the film "Arthur") Dwayne Ford languished in obscurity. Still, this album is a timely reminder of how talented a guy Ford is. Check out "Lovin' And Losin' You", "Am I Ever Gonna Find Your Love" or "There's A Life In Me" and tell me I'm wrong.

Pride & Glory - Pride and Glory (1994)
U.S.A. | MP3 CBR 320 Kbps | 2 CD | 253 MB
Southern Rock/Metal | Label : Spitfire Records

Pride and Glory is Zakk Wylde's first self-fronted album. It has more of a Southern rock sound than Zakk Wylde's other albums incorporating the likes of banjo, harmonica and mandolin.Upon its release, their one and only album was seen as an almost complete departure from the music Zakk was known for with Ozzy, but the album's dominant Southern rock sound proved to remain a prevalent influence on Zakk's own music up to and including the debut Black Label Society album Sonic Brew. Zakk's songwriting skills come to the forefront on the album; there is a great deal of variety and the songs themselves are very dynamic, with a very loose jam-band feel to a number of them, namely "Shine On" and "Toe'n the Line."Both "Losin' Your Mind" and "Horse Called War" were released as promotional singles with accompanying music videos, whilst "Troubled Wine" was also released as a promo single but without a video. The album was reissued in 1999 on Spitfire Records with a bonus disc of rare and unreleased material.
