Like this album! Y Not? Solid tunes, good harmonies, great backbeat, feel-good lyrics… what's not to like? Harkens back to the golden 60s and 70s, songs you want to sing to, tap your feet to and maybe get up and jig a bit. Not too many recent albums of which you can say that. And there are some surprises too, like Joss Stone's soulful rocking duet, Who's Your Daddy, and the title song with its mysterious Hindi-sounding chorus and tablas breaking through, and Mystery of the Night and… Heck, just do yourself a favor and get the album. Groovy!

Although he synthesized disparate elements of both rock and pop traditions, singer/songwriter Harry Nilsson was at heart a maverick whose allegiance belonged to neither. His initial series of albums in the late '60s made him a personal favorite of the Beatles, who found a natural affinity with his knack for catchy melodies, witty lyrics, and extraordinary vocal range. Thought of as a songwriter first and a performer second, he became a pop star himself in the late '60s and early '70s with "Everybody's Talking" and "Without You." He lost some of his original audience, however, with subsequent detours into pre-rock styles of pop, and did little recording over the last 15 years of his life.

Shhh is a 1992 album by anarchist punk band Chumbawamba. It was originally recorded and written as "Jesus H. Christ," an album that relied heavily on samples. A number of the musicians whose material had been sampled objected, and the album was largely re-worked to defend artistic intent and criticise censorship.

The New York Times is one of numerous publications to declare that Kurt Elling is the "standout male vocalist of our time," and The Gate, Elling's follow-up to his Grammy-winning Dedicated to You, is among his strongest albums–and perhaps the finest of his career. Produced by Don Was (Rolling Stones, Bonnie Raitt, Bob Dylan), The Gate is a musical collection in which boundaries cease to exist, a sensibility enhanced by producer Don Was, who had expressed the desire to work with Elling–an opportunity which Elling found irresistible.

Even though Jerry Garcia (guitar/vocals) remained at the helm of the Grateful Dead in the '90s, many enthusiasts felt as if his passions lay with his solo congregate. The eponymously titled double-CD set boasts over two hours of support for that theory. Jerry Garcia Band (1991) was documented in 1990 from a series of shows at the Warfield Theater in San Francisco. The quartet is led by the guitarist and features longtime Garcia associate John Kahn (bass), Melvin Seals (keyboards), David Kemper (drums), Gloria Jones (vocals), and Jackie LaBranch (vocals). The selections accurately image the wide spectrum of pop, R&B, rock and soul covers Garcia and company played circa the late '80s and early '90s.

The Gods were an English group founded in 1965. They are probably better known for including a few famous British rock stars as members – before those musicians went on to international recognition – than they are for the two albums they actually released. Two future Uriah Heep stalwarts, keyboardist/singer Ken Hensley and drummer Lee Kerslake, both played on those albums, and prior to the first Gods band album, both Mick Taylor and Greg Lake had passed through the lineup. The two Gods albums were undistinguished, keyboard-based rock that were midway between late-'60s British pop-psychedelia and early-'70s heavy progressive rock. This Japanese reissue 2009 contains the albums "Genesis" and "To Samuel A Son" featuring the original design and includes the bonus tracks.

Guns N' Roses - Use Your Illusion II is the fourth studio album by Guns N' Roses. It was one of two albums released in conjunction with the Use Your Illusion Tour, and as a result the two albums are sometimes considered a double album. Bolstered by lead single "You Could Be Mine", Use Your Illusion II was the slightly more popular of the two albums, selling 770,000 copies its first week and debuting at No. 1 on the U.S. charts, ahead of Use Your Illusion I's first week sales of 685,000. Both albums have since been certified 7× Platinum by the RIAA. This was the last Guns N' Roses album to feature rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin and the last song to feature drummer Steven Adler (Civil War).
