Tracks recorded in 1980-1981. INTHEBEGINNING is an interesting collection of Madonna's aural baby pictures, more specifically the low-budget, lo-fi demos she made in early 1980 and '81 with songwriting partner Stephen Bray (who provides amusing liner notes in which he continually refers to her as Emmy). Highlights include "Laugh to Keep From Crying," a highly uncharacteristic rocker a la the Pretenders, with 12-string Rickenbacker guitar played by Madonna herself, two versions of the early album cut "Ain't No Big Deal," and bare-bones blueprint versions of future hits "Burning Up" and "Everybody."

Rebel Heart is the thirteenth studio album by American singer Madonna. It was released on March 6, 2015 by Interscope Records. After a flurry of unexpected album content leaks, the singer put the album's pre-order out of a sudden on iTunes on December 20, 2014, with six songs being available for download. Madonna co-wrote and co-produced the album in partnership with various musicians, including Diplo, Avicii, and Kanye West. Musically, Rebel Heart is a pop record which merges an array of musical genres such as 1990s house, trap and reggae, as well as the usage of acoustic guitars and gospel choir.

Given the cold shoulder Madonna's 2003 album American Life received by critics and audiences alike – it may have gone platinum, but apart from the Bond theme “Die Another Day,” released in advance of the album, it generated no new Top Ten singles (in fact, its title track barely cracked the Top 40) – it's hard not to read its 2005 follow-up, Confessions on a Dance Floor, as a back-to-basics move of sorts: after a stumble, she's returning to her roots, namely the discos and clubs where she launched her career in the early '80s…

"I'll Remember" is a song by American singer Madonna for the 1994 film With Honors. It was released by Maverick and Warner Bros. Records on March 8, 1994, as the lead single from the film's soundtrack album. It was a radical change in image and style for Madonna, who had received huge backlash due to the release of her book Sex, the studio album Erotica and the film Body of Evidence. Warner Bros. decided to release the song for the film after noting most of her previous soundtrack singles had achieved commercial success. It utilizes a synthesized keyboard arrangement to bring about a continuously reverberating heartbeat sound. Madonna's voice is supported by backing vocals.

It's not just that she's returning to dance music – in a way, she's been making hardcore dance albums ever since 1998's Ray of Light, her first full-on flirtation with electronica – but that she's revamping and updating disco on Confessions instead of pursuing a bolder direction.

FM BROADCAST RECORDING FROM MADONNA S LIKE A VIRGIN TOUR Beginning in April 1985, Madonna embarked on her first concert tour, in North America, The Virgin Tour , with the Beastie Boys as her opening act. She progressed from playing CBGBs and the Mudd Club to playing large sporting arenas at this juncture in her career. The tour saw the peak of the Madonna wannabe phenomenon, with lots of female attendees dressing like her. While still on the tour, Penthouse and Playboy magazines published nude photos of her, taken in New York in 1978. The publication of the photos caused a media uproar, but Madonna remained unapologetic and defiant. A month or so before Live Aid, Madge played three nights at Universal City in LA, of which the final night - 28th April 85 - was recorded for FM broadcast around California, and synced across America and many other parts of the world. This CD release contains this entire performance, a fine example of Madonna live at the point in her career when she was on the brink of world domination.
