Klaatu gained international attention by remaining hidden for two albums, the first of which was rumoured to be a hidden Beatles reunion album. Their first album 3:47 EST indeed was superb enough to qualify as a Beatles album, with some very skilful songwriting, excellent production and splendid execution. One could fault their inspiration, since they are definitely Beatles-esque, but they manage this better than any other group ever had or has since this album. By the time their stunning follow-up album Hope was released, it was clear they were not the Beatles, but nevertheless the songwriting, execution and inspiration remained flawless…
Disguised Masters was created more as a sinful pleasure for the die-hard fans, rather then a strange, marketable album, for which the band is usually known. Only a few of the tracks should even be considered metal. Arcturus, being the eccentric bunch they are, instead provide listeners with one new track, "Deception Genesis," which is very similar in style to La Masquerade, and a series of techno/hip-hop/industrial remixes from the aforementioned album. Don't misunderstand, it is an interesting album, just very different. For the most part, it is an instrumental album, minus the new track, the re-recording of Aspera Hiems Symfonia's "Du Nordavind," and the gangsta-rap remix of "Master of Disguise" (who knew Garm had it in him!). This makes a challenging listen for those new to Arcturus and their brand of brain-numbing madness, better known as symphonic metal.
'A Song Of Spring' is the new offering from Pete Jones. The release date is March 4th 2022. Following on from 2017's The Depths Of Winter, Pete brings us his take on the spring season, with tales of joy and tragedy from around the world. Featuring Andy Latimer (Camel) on guitar. Tiger Moth Tales is essentially the brain child of Nottinghamshire based musician and writer Pete Jones. Previously known for writing and performing adult contemporary music, at the beginning of 2013 Pete began work on a progressive music project. In an effort to rejuvenate the creative process he went back to the music he had listened to in his childhood with bands such as Genesis, Queen Etc. Also he was taking influences from the modern progressive bands like Frost, Big Big Train, Haken and Progressive stalwarts such as Steve Hackett and Roine Stolt.
The 7th studio album is a large scale orchestral/rock band hybrid. The Tangent is a Progressive Rock Band from Northern England. Based around keyboards player, composer and idiosyncratic vocalist Andy Tillison Diskdrive. Their music is cinematic and lyrical, full of narrative, often telling stories or making observations about the world we live in - often choosing subject matter more associated with Anarcho-Punk bands than with the genre in which the band choose to base themselves. "No Hobbits or Orcs in our songs" The band have, for 12 years now, released a steady output of well regarded albums through their record label Insideout Music. At the time of writing, the band's eighth studio album "A Spark In The Aether" is in production in four locations in two countries.
L'Étagere Du Travail is a companion album to the 2013 release "Le Sacre Du Travail" and is only available on CD. No Vinyl Edition exists! This album is a Fan-Only release and is exclusive. Although the quality is high, these are demos nonetheless. Most of the instruments are played by Andy Tillison. Includes full extended version of "Dialogue du vent et de la mer" by Claude Debussy (featuring Luke Machin on guitar) as well as songs taken from an aborted Tangent album. Album comes in Digipack Case with colour cover. Number 2 in the bands Shelved Work Series. Also includes several revisited tracks!
