Digitally remastered edition of the 2nd Fairport Convention LP and the first to include the presence of Sandy Denny was recorded in 1968. It showcases a young group taking pleasure in singing and playing whatever took its' collective fancy, and doing this with surprising sensitivity, authority and musicality. Also evident is the trademark unpredictability and wacky sense of fun which marked their live concerts . Make 'em laugh, make 'em cry, make 'em puzzled; that was early Fairport. Includes 3 Bonus Tracks. "Throwaway Street Puzzle" was released as the b-side of the "Meet On The Ledge" single. "You're Gonna Need My Help" is a rare BBC Radio recording from 1969 and features a virtuoso slide-guitar performance by Richard Thompson. "Some Sweet Day" was originally recorded to be released as a single but was shelved in favour of "Meet On The Ledge".

Wonderful compilation of 233 songs with legendary Nat King Cole, in excellent sound quality for original recordings of 30's and 40's. It is the most complete Cole's collection in one set, for the pre-Capitol recordings with the Capitol era remarkably well-represented as well. Superb hep-cat jive, the supple swing of bass, guitar and Nat's amazing piano, topped with cool vocals by Nat and occasional female guest singers. Enjoy.

This excellent box set covers Nat's career from the beginning through about 1954. The sound is extremely good though there is noticeable background static on some of the older tracks. Only a very few tracks contain enough noise to be quite noticeable. Rather than restricting the content to his singing career, this set also includes Nat as a jazz pianist, as an accompanying pianist and as part of the Nat King Cole Trio which preceeded his latest career as a solo singer.

Four discs (104 tracks in all) that exhaustively document the Mercury, Roulette, and Old Town output of big-band veteran Buddy Johnson, whose eternally swinging outfit was seductively fronted by his sister Ella (along with several interchangeable male crooners). Buddy's band wasn't as big as it once was during his Mercury tenure (tenor saxman Purvis Henson was at the core of the blazing horn section), but the tightly arranged New York-style sizzle remained.
