"What more can be said about this amazing instrument we call the Rhodes. This amazing keyboard has become a staple in all music, and really struck a chord (pun intended) with a lot of us during the 70's soul music era. Here I've created a special collection of riffs, loops and musical pieces all done with one instrument - a Mark II Fender Rhodes.

Happy Rhodes is the definition of a cult artist. She's a very private, New York-based singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, best known by most music fans – if at all – as frontwoman for Security Project, an all-star supergroup (also including Trey Gunn, Jerry Marotta, and Michael Cozzi) dedicated to the music of Peter Gabriel. Rhodes does enjoy a global fan base that has existed since the early '90s. They call themselves "ectophiles," chosen from the title of Rhodes' fourth album. Numero, one of the standard-bearers in mining the deep veins of American musical culture, makes her the centerpiece of this 18-track set, compiled and remastered from four cassette releases cut when she was in her early twenties between 1986-1987 for the indie Aural Gratification label.

Mark Two Berlin is a distinctively unique and versatile instrument recorded from a restored Fender Rhodes MKII. It was salvaged from a Berlin collector and brought back to life after many months of restoration.

Leeds, United Kingdom, July 17, 2024 — Grammy-winning pianist, keyboardist, and composer Bill Laurance, who got his start with the jazz fusion band Snarky Puppy and has since built a flourishing solo career, presents the latest ‘Rhodes Sessions’ recordings. In these sessions, Laurance explores the dynamic performance capabilities and diverse sound characteristics of the Rhodes MK8 piano through four original compositions, ranging from swing to indie rock. Recorded at The Nave studio in Pudsey, UK, these live recordings demonstrate the MK8’s versatility and appeal to musicians across various styles and genres.
