Matt Scullion is one of the most respected singer/songwriters to come out of Australia in recent years with a swag of hit songs to his credit. Matt’s sound is definitely his own, but his influences vary from The Eagles to Ryan Adams to Bruce Springsteen to Steve Earle with a little bit of James Taylor thrown in for good measure – sounding like none of them, but channeling all of them. He has written with the best and had his songs recorded by the likes of Cold Chisel, Lee Kernaghan, Travis Collins, Sara Storer, Adam Harvey, The Viper Creek Band, Tania Kernaghan, Drew McAlister, Amber Lawrence, Troy Kemp, The Wolfe Brothers and Jayne Denham to name but a few, with 16 of those songs going to the number 1 position on the country music charts.

Like Matt Slocum's six previous albums, Lion Dance is a work of high distinction. On his first investigation of the tenor saxophone-bass-drumset trio format, in the company of world-class practitioners Walter Smith III and Larry Grenadier, Slocum - less widely known than his bandmates - operates fully as a peer, surefootedly navigating them through five original pieces whose subtle challenges enhance freedom of expression, and three Jazz and American Songbook standards addressed more or less straight-no-chaser.

Singer-songwriter Matt Stell, whose single “Prayed for You” is currently climbing charts, has announced details for his new EP. Titled Everywhere but On, the seven-track collection will be released via Sony Music Nashville. "I dread answering the question 'what kind of music do you play' every time it's asked," says Matt Stell. "Every time someone asks me, I just end up telling them that we're like 30 of my favorite bands and proceed to recommend songs and YouTube clips to them."
