A period when a raft of bands and artists imbued a new energy into the country's musical culture. This mega 77 track collection features some of the biggest names from this period such as The Clash, Ramones, The Jam, The Cure and The Slits. Alongside the bigger names, this set shines a light on the lesser known bands, those who might have left just the one great single in their wake such as The Limit, Gary Valentine, The Wardens, Basement 5 and The Limps. Many of these incredibly rare tracks appearing here for the very first time on CD. The collection features a 32 page booklet which includes an introduction and track by track notes alongside band anecdotes from the likes of Viv Albertine (The Slits), Damian O'Neill (The Undertones), Glen Matlock (Rich Kids), Gary Valentine, Mike Sweeney (Salford Jets) and more. Completing the package is a sublime selection of fascinating photos and memorabilia depicting this period of UK music culture like nothing else out there.

Golden-voiced Mavericks frontman Raul Malo lets his guitar do the singing in this 10-song collection highlighting his skill as an arranger and instrumentalist. From midnight in Havana to the beaches of California, hear Malo‘s full range of musical influences on display as he explores a wild variety of textures from surf guitar licks, lush earthen tones, spaghetti western to big band jams and more, accompanied occasionally by his Mavericks bandmates. It’s a sonic adventure befitting his time leading music’s most shape-shifting band.

My influences for the music on this record were so sprawling, that there had to be some elements (apart from my brilliant band) to hold it all together as one cohesive sound. So fundamentally this is my love letter to the many beautiful Afro Brazilian rhythms that I have studied over the past few years.‘Terra Boa’ is Portuguese for ‘Good earth’. In respect to the vibrant and fertile musical landscape of Brazil. Good earth which nourished the growth of my own unique musical branches from strong and deep roots. The grooves are heavily influenced by Afro Brazilian rhythmic traditions, which along with contemporary jazz harmony and improvisation, form the backbone of the music.

Presented as full length, beautifully orchestrated suites, one for each of the games included, Final Symphony II features the music of Final Fantasy V, VIII, IX and XIII, as performed by the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and recorded inside the stunning Stockholm Konserthuset.

Rather than focus on one specific subset of style, this latest compilation from Teensville shines a spotlight on 29 “straight ahead” pop tracks that made the grade, but not the hit parade. The two stereo Beethoven cycles, those of the Symphonies (1965–70) and the Piano Concertos (with Wilhelm Backhaus, 1958–59), form the core of this edition of the complete Decca recordings of Hans Schmidt-Isserstedt (1900–1973).

In 1972, left-wing intellectual film critic Uwe Nettelbeck suggested to Anthony Moore that he might write some straight songs (relatively speaking), which in turn prompted Moore to invite his old schoolfriend Peter Blegvad over to Hamburg to form the band Slapp Happy. Dagmar Krause, a young singer from Hamburg and Moore‘s girlfriend, joined them both on their trip to Wümme to record what was to become this album, Sort Of, using Faust as their rhythm section. In honour of this album's 50th anniversary the album will get a nicely remastered reissue with the newly founded Week–End Records.
