Aérophone poursuit sa quête d’espaces nouveaux, dans le prolongement esthétique d’un autre fameux trio avec trompette et tambour, celui de Dave Douglas (Tiny Bell), dont on regrette fort qu’il ait si vite disparu des écrans-radar. En effet, les possibilités offertes par cette instrumentation sont encore largement inexplorées, ou du moins très ouvertes. D’emblée, le parcours proposé par « Souris de poche », ondoyant, divers, rebondissant, surprenant même, déploie toutes les facettes de la manière à la fois savante et séduisante du trio : phrasé aux arêtes vives, rythmes superposés et variés, tendresse du son.
