Recorded on location at Buddy Guy's Legends in the blues capital of the world, Chi-town, this DVD captures the inexhaustible Guy leading an all-star band through an electric set of highly-charged blues classics. The Saturday Night Live Band is featured with G.E. Smith, Lenny Pickett, Johnny Johnson, and more. Recorded at legendary bluesman Buddy Guy's Chicago establishment, Buddy Guy's Legend, this release sees the Grammy-winning artist playing some of his most-loved, classic songs. Included are "Damn Right, I've Got the Blues," "My Time After Awhile," and "I've Got News for You." Also performing is the Saturday Night Live Band featuring G.E. Smith, Lenny Pickett and Johnny Johnson.

Blues / Regional Blues

Music was paramount in New Orleans, a town where they liked jazz with their blues. Regular blues musicians like Richard ‘Rabbit’ Brown got on disc when the record companies came to town. In general bluesmen and women came from out of town for their sessions, Texans like Lillian Glinn, Will Day, Oscar Woods and Blind Willie Johnson or Mississippians Bo Carter, the Mississippi Sheiks and Walter Jacobs, or out-of-towners like Little Brother Montgomery. New Orleans also saw the first recordings by fascinating Cajun musicians like Amédé Ardoin, Dewey Segura, Lawrence Walker and Cléoma Falcon, who put down their version of 12-bar blues.

‘Vigil in a Wilderness of Mirrors,’ Fish’s first solo album post-Marillion, originally released in 1990, has been remixed by Calum Malcolm for 2024. This new remix breathes fresh energy and dynamics into the album, giving it a new lease on life. The remix highlights fan-favorite tracks like ‘Cliché’ and ‘The Company,’ and celebrates the album’s enduring legacy as Fish embarks on a new chapter.

All of the music on this CD comes from the June 24, 1992, concert at Town Hall in New York City, with a host of artists each being featured. Trumpeter Tom Harrell leads off with two fine originals, the turbulent "Journey to the Center" and the mellow but swinging "Weaver." His very strong supporting cast includes ex-boss Phil Woods on alto sax, tenor saxophonist Joe Lovano, and pianist Jim McNeely, as well as bassist Peter Washington and drummer Bill Goodwin.
