Since we have presented five editions of the NOW – Yearbook series that span the first half of the 1980s. NOW Music is proud to present the newest edition to our ‘Yearbook’ family: NOW – Yearbook 1979. With a re-imagined look that reflects the era, 85 tracks over CDs celebrate a truly spectacular year of chart magic.

NOW Music is proud to present the newest edition to our ‘Yearbook’ family: NOW – Yearbook 1979. With a re-imagined look that reflects the era, 85 tracks over 4-CDs celebrate a truly spectacular year of chart magic.

NOW was recently proud to announce the ‘Yearbook’ for 1985, as we move forward to the second half of the 1980s, and we were delighted with the response to the 1979 edition back in September. However, we haven’t quite finished with those golden pop years 1980 – 1984.

Now That’s What I Call Music celebrate 1973 with a new Yearbook devoted to those 12 months which includes hits from Elton John, Paul McCartney & Wings, Slade, T. Rex, Faces, Billy Joel, Elvis Presley, Marvin Gaye, Fleetwood Mac, Rod Stewart, John Lennon, Bruce Springsteen and more. As usual you can choose from the 4CD deluxe set in book packaging or a standard card sleeve version. Both offer 83 tracks from 1973 and there’s even room for some David Bowie this time, although perhaps not the track you were expecting. A 3LP vinyl edition offers a cut down 47-track selection and is pressed on red vinyl. Full tracklistings for both formats can be found below. NOW is proud to present the next instalment in our ongoing ‘Yearbook’ series – and looks back to 37 years ago – with 80 tracks on 4 CDs, to celebrate an incredible year of Pop singles… NOW – Yearbook 1987. This format is Special Edition 4CD set housed in ‘hard-back-book’ packaging, including a 28-page booklet featuring a summary of the year and a track-by-track guide. NOW That’s What I Call Music’s Yearbook series continues with 1990, only the second time they’ve dipped their toe into the decade we like to call “the 1990s”. There’s loads of great songs and artists on this compilation, including George Michael, Elton John, Roxette, New Order, The KLF, The Beautiful South, Pet Shop Boys, Sting, Duran Duran, Kylie, Whitney, er, Appleby… and that’s just CD 1! The second disc is home to a few memorable collaborations, namely DNA & Suzanne Vega, Adamski & Seal and there’s definitely a ‘dance’ vibe with contributions from Deee-Lite, Soul II Soul, Adventures Of Stevie V, SNAP! before it goes a bit ‘indie’ towards the end with The Charlatans, The Stone Roses, The Cure and Primal Scream, etc.

CD1 kicks off with a run of Synth-Pop gems from established artists Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark, Blancmange, Gary Numan and Talk Talk alongside some newer bands, The Lotus Eaters, Freur and After The Fire… Japan released a live instrumental, and Yello, Divine, Rockers Revenge and Freeez presented fantastic club tracks. The second disc opens with a stunning collection of Indiesingles from Bauhaus, Marc And The Mambas, The Stranglers and The Glove – featuring members of both The Cure and Siouxsie And The Banshees! CD3 features some huge and long-established superstars Billy Joel with the stunning opener Goodnight Saigon, Bonnie Tyler, Lionel Richie, Mike Oldfield, The Kinks, Olivia Newton-John and U.S. hit for Kenny Rogers and Sheena Easton with a cover of Bob Seger’s ‘We’ve Got Tonite’.

Following the fantastic response to ‘NOW Yearbook 1980’ – we are thrilled to present more stellar tracks from the year with ‘NOW – Yearbook Extra 1980’. This limited edition 3CD highlights an additional 66 tracks from the charts of 1980, making it the perfect complement to any Yearbook, 80s pop or NOW music collection.
