From the dawn of doo-wop to the death of disco, the Notations saw—and sang—it all. Persisting through changing trends and technologies, on major labels and minor ones, produced by both Syl Johnson and Curtis Mayfield, nothing could stop the Notations from representing Chicago’s Southside for decades. The first overview of their indie label golden age, Still Here 1967–1973 finds the Notations at a musical crossroads, turning from simmering R&B ballads to socially-conscious soul. Offering up a platter of golden-dipped harmonies, inventive arrangements, and super-powered soul, the Notations survived as unheralded legends in their own time.

Boscoe is the 1973 self-titled debut album by Chicago band Boscoe. Originally released on the very small Kingdom of Chad label, only a few copies were pressed and released before it did nothing. It would gain a cult following a few decades later. This was remastered and reissued in 2007 by The Numero Group.

A label known as The Numero Group came out with a compilation called Local Customs: Lone Star Lowlands. THis focuses on the Lowland company out of Beaumont, Texas, with all the hope in the world but not the budgets as bigger labels. It is the best.

Alan Munson, the songwriter of Cooley-Munson duo, continued the folk-rock way. It took him some time, but in 1975 he was ready for what is, his best 70's work. We, at Guerssen, think "Good Morning World" is a killer album! Incredibly, "Good Morning World" was only released in cassette, and in a limited run. Under these circumstances, I'm so glad to put this out at last the way it should be. "Good Morning World" includes nine original, acoustic based songs with a mellow psych and folk rock sound across this album. Meaningful and understandable lyrics, delivered by "close-up" lead vocals, and background harmony vocals. Instruments played on the album include 6 string acoustic guitar, 12 string acoustic guitar, electric bass and percussion.
