This live release was captured on the occasion of their celebrating 10 years of live Oresund Space Collective concerts. The first concert was at their local favorite club, Dragens Hule (RIP) in Feb 2005. Since that time the collective grew greatly from the roots of Mantric Muse and Bland Bladen to a multi-international collective of like minded musicians. The amazing venue, Loppen in Christiania was the site of this amazing night, which featured 3 sets of music with three completely different line up of musicians. Dr Space played in all three sets but all the rest of the musicians switched out for each set.
This is the bands 27th (?) studio album release and 38th physical release. The material on this record was recorded in October 2010 on the 2nd day of recording and featured a lot of different musicians from Days 1 and 3. Some of the material from this session was previously released on a bandcamp subscriber LP. The main track on that album, Crusin´with the Alien Crew, appears as a bonus track on the CD version as well as one additional bonus track not on the LP (*). Some of the tracks have been edited for the vinyl edition which will come out later in the year. A lot of the material has a funky nature but it is a very diverse album with a nice chill out sitar number, a uptempo country track and a lot of space rock!!!
The Øresund Space Collective is back with 2013 studio album, the bands 16th release. The material on this gatefold album was recorded at the Black Tornado studios in Copehagen in April 2012. It is the same studio where all of the bands studio releases have been made. The Sessions were heavily guitar dominated as was the last studio session from 2010 but the level of solo intensity was lifted up a notch as Daniel and Nicklas lay down some amazing melodic, spacey and ripping guitar on these exploratory tracks. Besides the opening track, Walking on Clouds, the rest of the tracks were totally improvised. The songs presented here were engineered by Lars Lundholm, mixed by Daniel (in his home studio in Colorado in 2012) and mastered by Johan Dahlström in Feb 2013. The fantastic artwork is by the amazing Finnish artist Eetu Pellonpåå.
This marks the 20th Øresund Space Collective release. The music was recorded by a very special group of musicians from Sweden and Norway (plus Dr Space-Denmark) at the Black Tornado studio in Copenhagen. The members are from a wide variety of bands including Tangle Edge, Agusa, Camper von Beethoven, My brother the Wind, and Ex-Siena Root. The mixture of pedal steel, sitar, violin, mandolin, and theremin, presents a new and exciting sound and energy ranging from high energy space rock like Ride to Valhalla to very laid back country space blues with Jam for Jerry G and Indian space trance of the Digestive Raga…
The Scandinavian Space Rock super group are back with their 33rd release. The CD/LP features one 62min track split over 3 album sides., that we recorded in the studio back in 2014. The same session that gave us the Different Creatures and Visions of, LPs and features some of the best musicians from the Scandinavian prog rock field. This is about as Prog Rock as the band has ever been with the track taking many different musical journeys over the 3 album sides. Side D of the vinyl contains a full length version (CD contains an edit) that is a unique mixture of Indian raga and space music with just synthesizer (Dr Space), sitar (KG), violin (Jonathan), bass (Hasse) and drums (Tim) from our 2016 studio session.
Øresund Space Collective is a space rock collective that over 50 different musicians have played in from primarily Denmark and Sweden. The band started out jamming in the rehearsal rooms in Copenhagen and Malmö back in 2004 and since then has created 25 records and played all over Europe and even Las Vegas (2016). This album was created in November 2016 and features the following musicians: Magnus (guitar, synths), Hasse (doun douns, bass, talking drum), Dr Space (synths), Jiri (bass), Tim (drums), KG (sitar, guitar, synths), and Jonathan (violin, guitar, bass, farfisa, and others). ‘Reflections…’ is an album side track featuring sitar and violin. ‘ESP’ is a more electronic synth based track to start and later has some heavy guitar. ‘The Oracle’ is the main track of the album, a 40min adventure starting with a synth drone and eastern vibe but then it takes off into space. Features some of the most amazing sitar and very cool violin.
This was the last show of our 4 show mini-tour of Sweden and Finland in Oct 2018. The band was on fire from the start with a killer high energy set. This was released and given away to our subscribers in March 2019 but a limited number are to be sold on bandcamp and at shows in May-June 2019.
This album was recorded in Stockholm, Sweden on Dec 4-6th, 2015. This session was less improvised but recorded in several improvised layers with a few special guests joining in as well. The music is much more synthesizer based with KG playing amazing 70s inspired synths and organ, as well as bass, guitar, and sitar. Dr Space creating spacey sounds and drones, while Love performed a spoken word, and providing all the drum and percussion parts. The addition of Violin and Santoor really took the two Indian inspired pieces (Khan Paan, Øscilations in D-Minor) to another level. A fantastic instrumental, Kraut inspired ethnic musical journey!
