OSIBISA means Criss-Cross rhythms that explode with happiness, and what a precise name, the first thing that anybody who listens this band admires is the fantastic rhythm section, combining drums and bass with tribal percussion instruments in a delightful way, even Uriah Heep couldn't resist the chance to add their percussion to the song Look at Yourself.

You might agree that riding on a rapidly rising crest of appreciation, Osibisa were now widely known as the representatives of what later came to be termed "world music" and had stunned the music world with the sheer power and colour of their sound and act, belying the prevailing image of a continent and race that always seemed to come short internationally in rankings and creativity of any sort.
