I Am The Night is the third release from Pantera. Released on their own independent record label "Metal Magic Records" in 1985. Vocals are performed by their original singer going by the name "Terrence Lee" at the time. Darrell Abbott is credited as Diamond Darrell & Vince Abbott is credited as Vincent Paul.

The box set contains 3 CDs, and an 8 page colour biography of the band all presented in a cardboard box. Far Beyond Driven features the banned artwork and has a bonus track.

May 15 2012 Rhino Records reissue is a two disc package. It features the bonus song "Piss" plus a DVD featuring live performances filmed in Italy in September 1992 and the three music videos filmed in support of the album.

The early 21st century saw Pantera singer Phil Anselmo launch several side projects, including Superjoint Ritual. The latter group is comprised of guitarists Jim Bower (ex-Down, Eyehategod) and Kevin Bond (ex-Eyehategod, Floodgate), drummer Joseph Fazzio (ex-Eyehategod), with none other than Hank Williams III on bass . May of 2002 saw the release of the quintet's debut, Use Once and Destroy, an album that reflected such influences as Black Flag, Righteous Pigs, Celtic Frost, and Voivod, among others.

The Cabo Verdean popular music genre of funaná is one that, up until a few years ago, had little representation in the wider global marketplace, and it’s easy to understand why. Outlawed by the Portuguese colonial government in the 1950s as too proud an expression of identity, it emerged into the local mainstream only in the 1990s, where it served as a sonic symbol of political activism during Cabo Verde’s shift to a multi-party government. In more recent years, popular sounds of the island nation have featured in several new releases – Analog Africa’s Space Echo and Legend of Funaná, Ostinato’s Synthesize the Soul – with funaná occasionally the focus.
