David Grubbs & Jim O'Rourke’s long-dormant Gastr Del Sol returns with a first “new” release in 25 years, an epic 3LP/2CD box set collecting previously unreleased recordings and rarities influenced by Derek Bailey’s free improv as much as hallowed jazz staples and musique concrète, like some irresistible force ploughing through the increasingly approachable, you might even say polite, output of their post rock contemporaries back in the late 90’s. Perhaps unsurprisingly, it sounds better now than ever, too.

Rounding out the album’s production, mastering was helmed by Thomas “Plec” Johansson (Soilwork, The Night Flight Orchestra, Onslaught, The Gems, Eleine and many more).

Singer Daniel Tompkins began WMBB as a creative outlet aside from writing for UK progressive rock band TesseracT, indulging in his other musical influences from Massive Attack, Enigma, Sigur Ros, David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Tool, Dredg and Thrice. After growing Skyharbor as one of India's biggest rock bands with songwriter Keshav Dhar, including taking the stage with acts such as Lamb of God and Deftones, the pair collaborated on Tompkins' new Contemporary Pop project with progressive and experimental music at its heart.

After releasing two EP's, a Live DVD and two brand new singles, the Yatin Srivastava Project is ready to release its first full length album titled 'Chaos // Despair' on the 25th of May 2018. A record that has been in the making for close to two years, it showcases the first instance of a personalised sound the band can call its own. Clocking in around 45 minutes, the record is divided into two broad themes, showcasing each theme through a series of 3 songs. The content of the record mostly deals with Yatin's experiences through the last three years and beyond. More so in detail, the songs deal with themes of political disarray, religious fear-mongering, war, loss, the lack of inter-personal connection, battles related to mental health and personal strifes through the two themes of 'Chaos' and 'Despair'.

From the mind of Spencer Sotelo (Periphery), this is ENDUR. The debut album “American Parasite” comes out October 27th digitally with a limited CD/Digipak available for pre-order now. "It’s coming out under the name Endur. It’s like Trent Reznor worship and very heavy industrial […] From Broken to Year Zero material. I programmed everything and wrote all the drums. I didn’t play the drums, so I hired a couple guys that I really respect. One being Pete Adams and the other one is Ernie Slenkovich from First to Last. Both of them tag teamed the record on drums. Not every song has live drums, there’s a lot of programmed stuff, but the ones that do have live drumming have those two guys going at it."

Do you know what happens when a band you love, a band you have played gigs with finally releases their long waited album… that’s right you groove your ass off! 40 Days Later always looked like they are about to do something really special and a couple of years in the making, Alterations is finally out. The dudes went through metalcore, but they didn’t stay on one place with djent pushing through the air, they just grabbed it, loved it and I am sure it was quite natural that they choose to wait for their modern inspirations to give fruit… and it is so damn tasty!

Very good band from Finland with an intricate music that ranges over classic prog, jazz, blues, techno, and more. There is intensive use of endless instruments. The compositions make use of a great variety of unpredictable arrangements that make the sound difficult to describe. Extremely creative and insanely courageous. Höyry-Kone was one of the most astounding experimental rock bands to come out from the periphery of the Anglo-Saxon and Center European scene during the 90s: what this Finnish act offered to the public ears was an unearthly mixture of 80s King Crimson, Samla Mammas Manna, the most aggressive facet of RIO, Zappa-esque vocal arrangements, gypsy folk and trash metal in a fluid sonic continuum that portrayed the band's own signature.
