Featuring a mere six tracks, most of them well over six minutes in length, Introspective was a move back to the clubs for the Pet Shop Boys. Over the course of the album, they incorporated various dance techniques that were currently in vogue, including Latin rhythms and house textures. The title isn't entirely an arch joke, however. Like Actually, Introspective was an exploration of distant, disaffected yuppies, which naturally resulted in a good deal of self-analyzation. Melodically, the essential song structures were as strong and multi-layered as the previous album, yet that was hard to hear beneath the varying rhythmic textures that composed the bulk of each track. Nevertheless, the mixes are more compelling than the remixes on Disco, and the songs include several of their best numbers, including "Left to My Own Devices" and "Domino Dancing," as well as the reconstruction of "Always on My Mind" and a cover of Blaze's club classic, "It's Alright."
Pet Shop Boys have recently released their latest single “Monkey business” on 12-inch vinyl, CD and digital platforms. The track-listing features two remixes and a new song, “At rock bottom”, produced by Stuart Price.
Hotspot is Neil and Chris’ 14th studio album and is the follow-up to 2016’s Super. It was recorded mostly in Berlin’s legendary Hansa Studios and like the previous two albums it has been produced by Stuart Price. The Pet Shop Boys have stated that this is the last instalment of a trilogy of Price-produced albums, which suggests they’ll use someone else, next time.

"Introspective" has sold over 4.5 million copies worldwide to date and was the first to feature production by Trevor Horn, whose lavish orchestrations marked a new sonic direction for PSB. House Music legend, Frankie Knuckles created the mix of "I Want a Dog" while "Domino Dancing" was recorded in Miami with hit producer Lewis Martinée.
This "Catalogue" reissue features, along with the newly-remastered original album, bonus material such as demo versions of "Don Juan" and ‘Domino dancing’, seven-inch and disco mixes of ‘Losing My Mind" and "Left To My Own Devices".
The Pet Shop Boys will issue SUPER album track Undertow as a vinyl EP next month. This vinyl record (presume it’s a 12-inch) will feature two remixes of Undertow, a remix of Burn, and a new version of Left to my own devices produced by Stuart Price (based on the Super Tour version). As usual, artwork/design is handled by Farrow. There will be no CD single edition of this since they are exclusive to the now sold out Annually book.
