Arguably the greatest violinist in modern jazz, Zbignew Seifert was a musician’s musician, a player who is still talked about with a sense of awe. By the time of his death in 1979 at the age of 32, he had an international following and was playing with the jazz world’s elite. This 1976 recording features some of the genre's premiere musicians, including American drummer Billy Hart, considered in the same ranks as such innovators as Elvin Jones and Tony Williams. Bassist Cecil McBee’s credentials include work with Miles Davis and Keith Jarrett. Both Hart and McBee had also played with pianist McCoy Tyner, to whom this album and the title song "Man of the Light" are dedicated.

b. 5 December 1962, Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA. Whether playing as part of a band or as a solo artist, singer-songwriter Conway always manages to retain his trademark acoustic guitar-based sound. Although from the USA, it was not until Conway began playing with UK-based musicians that he finally began receiving some recognition for his talents. Debuting in 1995 with the album Sounds Like Rain, Conway has issued solo outings on a regular basis with stand-out titles including 1996’s Flying Home and 2001’s Live! He has also released albums with Dan Britton, Chloe Singer and Judith Silver. Although known primarily for his aforementioned acoustic folk style, Conway often manages to break from the expected, and has issued additional albums in a variety of different styles.

Donald Smith "Don" Airey has been the keyboardist in the rock band Deep Purple since 2002, succeeding Jon Lord. He has had a long and productive career, playing with such acts as Gary Moore, Ozzy Osbourne, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Jethro Tull, Whitesnake, Saxon, Wishbone Ash, Steve Vai, Colosseum II, Ten, Sinner, Michael Schenker, Rainbow, Empire, Thin Lizzy, Brian May, Divlje jagode and Living Loud. He has also worked with Andrew Lloyd Webber. A Light In The Sky, is his second solo record. Airey has gathered together a different set of collaborators (though Laurence Cottle of Sting/Eric Clapton/Brian Eno/Bill Bruford fame once again contributes precision bass-playing), though naturally Don provides the record's central creative thrust an entertaining mixture of instrumental and vocal songs, from the Bladerunner-style Ripples In The Fabric Of Time to the hook-laden hard rock of Shooting Star.

It's been just over a decade since Maddie (Font) and Tae (Kerr) blasted into Nashville with their first single, "Girl In a Country Song," a perfectly timed clapback against the bro-country era. Such a big, statement-making number could've overshadowed everything else they've done and rendered them one-hit wonders. But the duo have continued to grow and experiment, playing with jazzy neo-soul and thoughtful ballads on 2020's The Way It Feels, while preserving the confidence and catchiness of their debut—even as they understand their audience doesn't want them to reinvent too much.

Light Grenades is the sixth studio album by alternative rock band Incubus, released on November 28, 2006 on Epic Records. The album sold 359,000 copies during its first week of release worldwide, and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, selling 165,000 copies in the U.S. in its first week; it is the band's first number one album.
