The songs are reinventions. They are re-orchestrated through Susan Voelz s unique sonic prism. On this her third record, she has woven together her mastery of rock strings (the lush violin played as a member of Poi dog Pondering) and the tenderness and tumult of her solos with punk poet Alejandro Escovedo, resulting in the magic carpet ride of Die 4 U, the dervish of Anna Stesia, the sway of The Most Beautiful Girl in the World, and the insistent strength of 17 Days. Joined by guitarist Charlie Sexton (Bob Dyaln), Grammy nominated singer Abra Moore, Poi dog Pondering creator Frank Orrall, and cellist Helen Money (aka Alison Chesley).

Even geniuses (maybe especially geniuses) are taken for granted, not seen as geniuses, or only appreciated in small doses. Which is a grandiose way of saying that, no matter how partisans may complain, there are many listeners out there that don't want to delve into the deliriously rich catalog of Prince and would rather spend time with a single disc of all the hits – especially since the first singles compilation was botched, spread too thin over two discs and sequenced as if it were on shuffle play.
