River

American composer, musicologist and guitar legend Ry Cooder teams with North Indian musician Vishwa Mohan Bhatt to create an exquisite musical realm, with both musicians playing exceptional slide guitar. Their collaboration evokes musical elements from many cultures and styles. Percussion by Sukhvindar Singh on tabla and Cooder's 14-year-old son Joachim on dumbek. This recording won a Grammy Award.

The follow-up to acclaimed pianist/composer Monty Alexander's Grammy-nominated 2011 release, 2014's "Harlem-Kingston Express, Vol. 2: River Rolls On" features more of Alexander's eclectic mix of reggae/jazz and Latin music. Eric Andersen Since rising out of the Greenwich Village folk scene in the early 1960s, Eric Andersen has maintained a prolific, adventurous, and varied career that spans folk, rock, country, blues, and beat poetry. Writing with a philosophical and poetic bent, he emerged alongside peers like Tom Paxton and Phil Ochs, and recorded a series of albums for the Vanguard label before finding mainstream success amid the singer/songwriter movement with his 1972 standout Blue River.
