The Backstreets site boasts a large fan base for Bruce Springsteen, who along with his wife Patti Scialfa makes a cameo appearance in the film. Together with Springsteen, Elliott Murphy began his career in the early 1970’s when both singer-songwriters were proclaimed the “new Dylan.” His career has been focused in Europe for many years where he continues to tour and release more than thirty-five albums. He lives in Paris where he has often joined Bruce Springsteen on stage.

Inspired to produce music in spite of the pandemic lockdown, American singer/songwriter/violinist/mandolinist Chris Murphy invited more than 30 guest musicians near and far to collaborate on this unique mixed-genre recording.

First and only available recording of this most anticipated work by one of India's best known composers, Ravi Shankar. Featuring the dazzling sitar playing of Anoushka Shankar - whose recordings on the Deutsche Grammophon label include the Grammy nominated, Live at Carnegie Hall. In this live recording of the work's premiere, David Murphy conducts the London Philharmonic Orchestra with Ravi Shankar's daughter Anoushka on sitar.

Mark Howe Murphy was an American jazz singer based at various times in New York City, Los Angeles, London, and San Francisco. He recorded 47 albums under his own name during his lifetime and was principally known for his innovative vocal improvisations. "Rah" is his 1961 studio album, arranged by Ernie Wilkins. This was Murphy's first Riverside Records album, and he is supported by an orchestra including such luminaries as Bill Evans, Wynton Kelly, Urbie Green, Ernie Royal, Clark Terry and Jimmy Cobb.

His passion and unique playing style placed him at the epicentre of an emerging jazz-dance scene in the city, popping off in spots like The Horseshoe (aka Jaffas), The Wag, The 100 Club, The Blue Note and The Electric Ballroom, where he founded the now famous 'Jazz Room', after which this album is named.
