Ryuichi Sakamoto

David recently completed work on a compilation cd featuring some of the best of his collaborative work of the last decade or so. Entitled 'Sleepwalkers' it contains fresh remixes by David and a new composition with classical composer Dai Fujikura entitled 'Five Lines'.
A number of the tracks have been given a subtle remix by David to bring them in line with his personal requirements while others have been given more obvious updates and changes. All the material has been completely remastered.

Kazumi Watanabe was only 17 when his debut Infinite was released in 1971, with his display of guitar skills establishing him as a young prodigy. As the late 70's continued, Watanabe created over a dozen jazz fusion albums, while also performing guitar segments on other musicians' albums. He travelled with Yellow Magic Orchestra on their tour in 1979 and was a key collaborator with many of the musicians involved, in particular with Ryuichi Sakamoto…

Pianist, composer, arranger (to cite one of her works among many, for Roberto Vecchioni on the album Chiamami Ancora Amore), conductor in the pop sphere (such as at Sanremo where she won with Marco Carta and Arisa), jazz player when necessary (as in the last tour held together with trumpeter Angelo Olivieri), a student of Einaudi and Piovani, an award-winning composer of soundtracks in Italy and abroad, and above all an eclectic, omnivorous, powerful and subtle musical personality, so much so that she convinced an absolute icon of cultured music, such as Ryuichi Sakamoto, to give her the song Asience, featured on the new album.

A Victim Of Stars 1982-2012 brings together the last 30 years of David Sylvian's solo career, encompassing material released with Virgin Records, along with more recent work released on his own label Samadhisound, including a new recording 'Where's Your Gravity?' which is exclusive to this compilation. The package comes as a trifold double disc set with insert. Note that Ghosts is the remixed version released in 2000 from the 'Everything and Nothing' Compilation, however 'Remix' is not mentioned on the CD, packaging nor folded track sheet.
