Known primarily for orchestral versions of contemporary pop songs, Ray Conniff's recordings during the late 1960s and early 1970s by himself and as Ray Conniff and the Singers included many straightforward recordings of current pop hits. This Dutton Vocalion's release combines two albums from the 70s: "Harmony" & "The Way We Were" albums. The hybrid SACD featuring both the stereo and quadraphonic mixes. Remastered from the original analogue tapes by Michael J. Dutton.

Edo de Waart conducts the San Francisco Symphony for performances of Grieg's "Peer Gynt" Op. 23: Incidental music to Ibsen's Play and Sir Neville Marriner conducts for Holberg Suite, Op.40. This reissue series of classical music masterpieces by Esoteric has attracted a lot of attention, both for its uncompromising commitment to recreating the original master sound. This series marks the first hybrid SACD release of historical recording selections that have been mainstays of the catalog since their initial release.

When the Zombies disbanded in 1969, their keyboardist and songwriter Rod Argent formed the band “Argent”, incorporating jazz, classical, and art rock influences. The other members included guitarist and songwriter Russ Ballard, bassist Jim Rodford, and drummer Bob Henrit. Their earliest releases received a fair amount of critical acclaim, but the real breakthrough came later on with their album “In Deep” with their minor hit “God Gave Rock ‘N’ Roll to You”. For those in the know you are well aware that Dutton Vocallion has been masterfully re-issuing classics like this over the past few years. Argent is part of a new batch of reissues that contain a double SACD set that contains three of their mid-career albums: “Ring of Hands”, “In Deep”, and “Nexus”.

Arthur Rubinstein was a Polish-American pianist. His first recording was made in 1910, but his major recording career was between 1928 and 1976. This Dutton Vocalion's reissue features his performance of Ludvig van Beethoven's "Emperor" (fifth) Piano Concerto with London Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Daniel Barenboim, recorded in 1975 and originally released as separate LP's in 1976. In addition to SACD has added Sonata No. 18 in E flat, originally released as part of "Beethoven's Concerto No. 2" LP in the same year. All recordings were digiatally remastered from the original master tapes.

The Konrad Paszkudzki Trio's aesthetic can be summed up in three words: mood, sizzle and swing. Their sound is classic yet timeless in its mode of expression, captivating ardent lovers of the jazz idiom and Tin Pan Alley tradition alike. The focus is on standards - tunes collectively known as The Great American Song Book. Without imposing trite gimmicks or relying on overt displays of flash and technical wizardry, the trio stays true to the original musical and lyrical content of the material, with an emphasis on melodic elegance and swinging verve. The influence of Nelson Riddle, Oscar Peterson, Erroll Garner and Ahmad Jamal can be felt and heard, but is never blatantly mimicked.

"Golden Age of Crossover" is a compilation of fusion music selected by Japanese audio critic, Yoshio Obara. With the cooperation of JVC/Kenwood Victor Entertainment, Obara has carefully chosen 13 tunes of Japanese fusion — all of which are his favorites from school days — from its music list, especially from those recognized their excellence in sound creation. This new disc by Stereo Sound label have been released under label's "Critics Series" mark, that have been produced as reference discs for the auditioning of audio components and are one of well-received "Reference Record Collections".

This album features one of the most beautiful sacred compositions in the history of music. In this recording 2 great singers are protagonists: Mariella Devia and Francesca Provvisionato, accompanied Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana masterfully directed by Daniele Callegari. This is pure analogue recording. Giulio Cesare Ricci for this recording did not choose a church but the intriguing acoustics of the Lauro Rossi Theater in Macerata. He used only 2 sets of microphones, 2 Neumann M49 & 2 Neumann U47s. The mastering is by Ricci using the Signoricci system, entirely analogue & tube. The master was made by transferring the analogue master recorded with the Nagra 4s 15ips, 1/4 inch 2 tracks to DSD. No editing. All the tracks on this record are heard as they were performed.

Vocalist & trombonist Rita Payes is joined by Jerry Weldon, Massimo Farao’, Nicola Barbon, Louis Hayes and Jimmy Cobb for this set which includes "Someone To Watch Over Me", "Bewitched", "September Song" and "Theme For Basie".

Jazz bassist and vocalist Nicki Parrott performs a joyful set of tango, mambo and rhumba songs including the title track, "Perfidia", "Kiss Of Fire", "Te Extrano", "Dos Gardenias", "Blue Tango", "Moliendo Cafe" and more, with Ken Peplowski on clarinet and tenor sax, Vince Cherico on percussion, Justin Poindexter on acoustic and electric guitar, and Sam Reider on accordian.
