This book contains the original peer-reviewed research papers presented at the 6th China Aeronautical Science and Technology Conference held in Wuzhen, Zhejiang Province, China, in September 2023. Topics covered include but are not limited to Navigation/Guidance and Control Technology, Aircraft Design and Overall Optimisation of Key Technologies, Aviation Testing Technology, Airborne Systems/Electromechanical Technology, Structural Design, Aerodynamics and Flight Mechanics, Advanced Aviation Materials and Manufacturing Technology, Advanced Aviation Propulsion Technology, and Civil Aviation Transportation.

Longer-term developments shape the present and endogenous futures of institutions and practices of science and technology in society and their governance. Understanding the patterns allows diagnosis and soft intervention, often linked to scenario exercises. The book collects six articles offering key examples of this perspective, addressing ongoing issues in the governance of science and technology, including nanotechnology and responsible research and innovation; and it adds two more articles that address background philosophical issues.

The aim of this book is to explore science and technology from the viewpoint of creating new knowledge, as opposed to the reinterpretation of existing knowledge in ever greater but uncertain detail. Scientists and technologists make progress by distinguishing between what they regard as meaningful and what they consider as secondary or unimportant.

This report analyzes the federal government's capacity to recruit highly qualified individuals for the top science and technology (S&T)-related leadership positions in the executive branch and makes appropriate recommendations.
