The Mulligan Brothers are releasing their third studio album, Songs for the Living and Otherwise this summer. The album brings joy and pleasure from dark songs about life, loneliness, death and spirituality. Lead singer/songwriter Ross Newell's warm, sincere voice brings out every emotion between pleasure and pain and makes you want to feel them over and over again. The band's name means second chances, but they took the biggest chance of their career and produced this album on their own, creating songs that are truest to them, so far. Converting the upstairs of Newell's home in the heart of Mobile, Alabama into a recording studio allowed them the freedom to get to the honesty of who they are.

Lost World Band is a Crossover Prog band that was founded in Moscow, Russia in 1990 by 3 classically trained musicians, originally known simply as Lost World. Their first album was released in 2001. They have released 6 full length studio albums and 1 live album. Their 6th album was released in April of 2019 and is called "Spheres Aligned". The group's line up for this album consists of Andrey Didorenko on vocals, guitars, bass, violins and keyboards; Vassily Soloviev on flute; Yuliya Basis on keyboards; Evgeny Kuznetsov on bass; and Konstantin Shtiriltz on drums. The music on this album was composed and recorded between November 2017 and December 2018 in both New York City and Moscow. The album consists of 11 tracks which in total comes to about 50 minutes. The music consists of half of the tracks being instrumental songs and half with vocals.

There is much to admire in “Songs of Bukovina.” It reveals before our eyes the world that is quiet, luminous, and downright happy (as opposed to the poignant “Odessa,” which shakes you to the core, leaving you gasping for air.) In fact, to watch this “Songs” is to partake in a festive village gathering and to experience what it feels like to be on a sunny afternoon in the area of the title, Bukovina, a picturesque region located on the northern side of Carpathians. When you watch “Songs,” you envision the bright rays of the sun illuminating the ground and almost feel a breeze of fresh mountain air. (These effects are in no small part due to the gorgeous lighting, created by Brad Fields, which floods the stage with an appealing golden glow and create a summery atmosphere.)
