2024 collection. Status Quo has endured for over 50 years and is known for worldwide hits and tours to millions of fans across the globe. This compilation collects together, for the first time, many of the band's rare tracks from the late 1990s and early 2000s, some of which have been unavailable for over 20 years. Until now, many of these tracks have only been available on CD singles or editions of albums only available in one country. This remastered compilation is supported by the band and has been overseen by the recordings' original producer, MIKE PAXMAN, who has also written liner notes for the release.

After 50 years at the top of their game as one of the world's premiere hard rock acts, Quo have leapt out of their comfort zone and now give the songs the chance to shine in a stripped down format; the amps are turned off, this album is fully acoustic and Quo recorded a total of 25 completely reworked Quo hits and fan favorites.

After the unfocused but commercially successful "Ain't Complaining" came this 1989 effort, commercially unsuccessful but more in character. "Perfect Remedy" is one of Quo's least known albums and scored just one minor hit but it features several fine rock songs that suggest the band were shaking off their previous pop foibles. There are however four songs here that prove they hadn't completely cured the tendency.

Drawing a line through from the earliest days, right up until the present time, this is an in depth journey through time. ‘Accept No Substitute’ is a treasure trove of hits, certainly, but also finds space for tracks that provide a narrative of the band’s story. Featuring more than fifty tracks from twenty three of the band’s studio albums, as well as single versions of some key songs and live recordings, this collection offers all the hits and more.

Never Too Late is best remembered today as drummer John Coghlan's final album with the band he'd served since the early '60s. The bulk of the set, however, was actually cut during the same sessions that produced the previous year's Just Supposin', although it's a struggle to say which of the two came out with the better songs. Neither is what one would describe as a classic Quo disc, but nor are they as disposable as some of the band's later releases.

A farmer and lawyer, Derek Quigley had entered Parliament just five years earlier as National MP for Rangiora. After his falling out with Muldoon he was an advisor to the Lange/Douglas Labour government, then a cofounder of the ACT Party.
