Stream of Passion initially began its existence as a project conceived by Arjen Lucassen, but after their debut release and subsequent touring, he apparently handed over the reigns to Marcela alone to do with as she pleased. After his departure, rather than dissolving the band entirely, Stream Of Passion revamped itself with some new musicians while retaining the core rhythm section. With guitarist Lori out of the picture as well, the band assumed the more traditional visual approach of a lovely enchantress and her entourage of tattooed bodyguards, but at least these thugs are more than capable at their instruments, and are not hesitant to indulge in some guitar solo heroics on occasion…

Stream of Passion is another one of Arjen Anthony Lucassen's ( Ayreon, Ambeon, Star One) projects and features musicians from as different countries as The Netherlands, USA, Mexico and Brazil. The music is build around Mexican female vocalist Marcela Bovio's beautiful voice. Arjen discovered her and she guested on Ayreon's The Human Equation album from 2004.

Darker Days, catapults Stream Of Passion from insider tip to undisputed trailblazer of the Gothic Metal genre. The songs are majestic musical gems that as a whole, deliver an unbelievably complex and sensuous end result. Metal guitars, beautiful melodies and symphonic arrangements build the foundation for these songs. Dutch/Mexican symphonic/progressive metallers STREAM OF PASSION will release their new album, "A War Of Our Own", on April 18 via PIAS/Rough Trade. The CD is described in a press release as "the result of the struggle the band had to endure after they decided to part ways with their record label and continue on their own path."
