Curieux octet à quatre guitares qui s’attaque, avec force d’imagination aux valses de Viseur et de Gusti Malla. En plus des guitares, on peut entendre le violoncelle de Vincent Courtois, l’accordéon d’Azzola, Alby Cullaz à la basse et deux batteurs (dont Philippe Combelle, le fils de qui vous savez… !) Malgré un son un peu daté (la guitare synthé nappante de Frédéric Sylvestre, pourtant assez bien utilisée ici…), le disque révèle de jolis moments notamment sur Flambée Montalbanaise et sur Valse Catalane d’Escoudé. Sur des arrangements subtils plutôt recherchés, le guitariste réussit à faire du neuf avec du vieux : et les vieilles valses réapparaissent alors sous un jour étonnament moderne. Pas forcément l’envie d’emmener guincher minouche au bal musette, mais bel hommage à un très beau répertoire.

2009 Deluxe Edition of the Irish Punk band's brilliant debut album, released to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the original album's release. This excellent reissue features the original 14 track album plus an additional 17 audio tracks (b-sides, radio sessions) and an enhanced video for 'Teenage Kicks'. The Undertones debut release - and particularly 'Teenage Kicks' - has long been regarded as one of the purest expressions of teenage Punk Pop. As bassist Michael Bradley says there was 'No plot, no theme, no parodies of any genre'. The Undertones 1979 debut is an off-the-cuff collection from five Derry kids with nothing to lose.

This box set features remastered versions of all of Sade's studio albums to date, on pure 180-gram black vinyl the first complete collection of their studio work up to the present day. All six of the band's acclaimed albums: Diamond Life (1984), Promise (1985), Stronger Than Pride (1988), Love Deluxe (1992), Lovers Rock (2000), and Solder Of Love (2010) are packaged into the beautifully finished, white case-bound box. Revisiting the audio, the band and Miles Showell worked from high resolution digital transfers of the stereo master mixes, from the original analogue studio tapes, remastered at half-speed at Abbey Road Studios. The elaborate, half-speed mastering process has produced exceptionally clean and detailed audio whilst remaining faithful to the band s intended sound. No additional digital limiting was used in the mastering process, so the six albums benefit from the advantage of extra clarity and pure fidelity, preserving the dynamic range of the original mixes for the very first time. The six album sleeves have been meticulously reproduced in exact detail with authentic paper and printing methods, perfectly replicated for the first time since their original release.

Essential: a masterpiece of progressive folk music
"Reflets" represented a teaser of STIVELL's mid to late 70s recordings with its blend of mournful (and occasionally spry) vocals with harp and other folk accompaniments and a little rock thrown in. It alluded to his indefatigable drive, now 4 decades old, to keep the tradition alive by holding its feet to the fire.
