This deluxe edition features the non-album b-sides as well as demos from the collections of Brett Anderson, Richard Oakes and Neil Codling. Limited edition collectors format of numbered 15.000 copies. Beautifully designed hardback book in matt laminate finish 52 page book, in heavy paperstock. Night Thoughts is a quintessentially Suede title: specific yet vague, a notion that seems either romantic or sad depending on perspective. Twenty years, a decade of which was spent in a split, certainly has shifted Suede's perspective, particularly that of leader Brett Anderson. In his younger years, Anderson couldn't resist the tragic but as he settles into middle age, his work bears an unmistakable undercurrent of gratitude: no longer racing against a nuclear sunset, he's meditating upon the elongated stillness of night. It's a shift of attitude, a maturation mirrored by Suede consolidating their strengths.

Having established that their 21st century reunion was not a passing thing, Suede decided to stretch themselves with The Blue Hour, the third record they've made since reuniting in 2013. Unlike that year's Bloodsports or its 2016 sequel Night Thoughts, The Blue Hour isn't produced by Ed Buller, who helmed their three big records of the 1990s (Suede, Dog Man Star, Coming Up), it's the work of Alan Moulder, the veteran producer whose fingerprints were all over alternative rock of the '90s that had little to do with Brit-pop.

Suede’s era-defining second album from 1994 celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. It was the last album to feature the band’s guitarist and co-songwriter Bernard Butler. It includes the classic hit singles ‘We Are The Pigs’, ‘The Wild Ones’, and ‘New Generation’. Art and design for this new format has been undertaken for Suede by official designer and photographer Paul Khera. On the reissue, bassist and founding member Mat Osman said this in a press release: “Your first album is songs you’ve been playing live for a long time. Generally, it’s almost set. The songs evolved in a certain way and you’re just trying to get them down. Dog Man Star was the first time where we just said, ‘Right, what happens if you push everything further? The slow songs, we take all the drums out. If we have a big closing song, we’ll have a fucking orchestra. To start the record, let’s have something that’s on one chord, and it’s just like a mantra. The kind of band we are, how far can we take it before it breaks?’”
