A quotation from Herodotus situates the film in a mythical dimension with a dizzying viewpoint. The images seem fragile, as if they were reaching us after surviving the sinking of time. Sound invades them with its inevitable presence. The voices reminisce on past events. The Saharawi people were there. They are there. They are resisting. Stirred by a dark and slow rhythm, overwhelmed by the noise of a wind that never stops, the film recalls the spirit of these biblical curses that condemned human beings to confront their own mortality. From this sensation, Territoire perdu brings the plight of an invisible people to the world's attention, a plight that could easily be forgotten in the cynicism of geopolitics….

This 1990 Digital Recording is a must for Bach's CD Collector. Recorded using historic organs on which some were played himself by Bach. Marie-Claire Alain's playing here is more in historic and faithful to performance practice. The tempos and the registrations are well planned and the approach of playing is spontaneous and simple. The spirituality of the performer is so evident here.

Rare selections, Groove & Tururut are a series of posts about hidden and unique collections of music from the 50s, 60s, and 70s, more or less rare and more or less widespread, and probably made in foreign editions aimed at minorities. We add that the vast majority are also physically obsolete. Small treasures that make the B-side of our discography.

Rock / Alternative Rock

Recorded over 6 months in 1991 in Berlin and Dublin, Achtung Baby was U2's seventh studio album. It was produced by Daniel Lanois , Brian Eno and Steve Lillywhite and mixed and engineered by Flood. Led by "The Fly", Achtung Baby spawned four more huge hit singles, "Mysterious Ways", "One", "Even Better Than The Real Thing" and "Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses". Heralded by Rolling Stone’s Robert Hilburn as "U2’s daring descent into darkness”, the album was awarded the Grammy for Best Rock Performance and became one of the most acclaimed rock records of the nineties and of U2's career. As Bono said at the time, it was “the sound of four men chopping down the Joshua Tree”.

Far and away the most comprehensive compilation of African music ever achieved, Africa - 50 Years of Music collects 185 classic recordings by 183 important artists from 39 countries in North, South, East and West Africa. The artists include universal stars such as Miriam Makeba, Fela Kuti, Youssou N'Dour, Franco, Cheb Khaled, Cesaria Evora, Mulatu Astatke, Salif Keita, Manu Dibango and Oum Kalsoum. The tracks, licensed from some of the world's most respected record companies, are all original studio recordings or, in a few cases, famous concert performances. Most of them were made in the 50 years from 1960 to 2010 - the era of African independence - but several date from the 1940s and '50s. Many of these songs are known and loved worldwide: Pata Pata, Soul Makossa, Yeke Yeke, Mario, Shakara, Jive Soweto. Others will be revelations to even the most dedicated record collectors.
