First album released on David's Samadhi Sound label

David Sylvian's Blemish album was the first release to appear on his own newly formed independent label Samadhisound in 2003. Written as a break from a project he was working on with Steve Jansen, Blemish is a suite of eight compositions based on studio recordings of live improvisational sessions utilizing Sylvian's voice as the focal point, minimal electronic brush-strokes and, on three songs, the prominently showcased free-jazz guitar work of Derek Bailey. Samadhisound returns to this fertile ground for its fifth release with The Good Son vs The Only Daughter: The Blemish Remixes, a collection of often radical re-workings by eight artists of seven of those original, stark compositions, all personally commissioned by Sylvian himself.

On The Good Son vs. The Only Daughter Sylvian takes the Blemish recordings, and, in collaboration with a group of remixers including Ryoji Ikeda, Akira Rabelais, Burnt Friedman and Readymade FC, offers a set of radical re-workings of the originals, transforming them into yet unheard of delights. Nonetheless the title, actually not all the pieces have been remixed; some songs have been re-recorded with new musicians.

An extension of David Sylvian's penchant for experimentation and collaboration, Wandermüde sees electro-acoustic artist Stephan Mathieu remix Sylvian's 2003 album Blemish. The project was originally intended to produce an ambient score for a new digital application that Sylvian was working on to showcase his photography. David Sylvian s experimental breakthrough Blemish sees a new interpretation in the album Wandermüde, by the remarkable electroacoustic musician Stephan Mathieu. Working from the instrumental source material, Mathieu brings us a new experience of the most stirring textures and darkest thoughts from this pivotal album.

David recently completed work on a compilation cd featuring some of the best of his collaborative work of the last decade or so. Entitled 'Sleepwalkers' it contains fresh remixes by David and a new composition with classical composer Dai Fujikura entitled 'Five Lines'.
A number of the tracks have been given a subtle remix by David to bring them in line with his personal requirements while others have been given more obvious updates and changes. All the material has been completely remastered.

A Victim Of Stars 1982-2012 brings together the last 30 years of David Sylvian's solo career, encompassing material released with Virgin Records, along with more recent work released on his own label Samadhisound, including a new recording 'Where's Your Gravity?' which is exclusive to this compilation. The package comes as a trifold double disc set with insert. Note that Ghosts is the remixed version released in 2000 from the 'Everything and Nothing' Compilation, however 'Remix' is not mentioned on the CD, packaging nor folded track sheet.
