The Hues Corporation was an American pop and soul trio, formed in Santa Monica, California in 1969. This SACD release includes the #1 chart hit, "Rock The Boat", and the hits "Rockin' Soul", and "Love Corporation". The group named themselves after the business empire of Howard Hues and they recorded some excellent easy listening disco music in the mid-seventies, but they are remembered as a one-hit wonder. The group who may not have been among the most important disco groups, but whose music is definitely worth a listen and a definite addition to all soul lovers.

Between 1959 and 1973, viewers tuned in weekly to NBC for the latest episode of Bonanza. The beloved western, following the exploits of the Cartwright family on their Ponderosa ranch, aired for a remarkable 431 episodes and reached an estimated 400 million watchers in 87 countries. Bonanza inspired, well, a merchandising bonanza, with action figures, comic books, lunchboxes, model sets, dinnerware, and even a chain of steakhouses and a Lake Tahoe theme park.

Newly found treasures from the Swiss DRS Radio Archives: 12 previously unreleased tracks by the venerated piano player and singer Elsie Bianchi, produced with different musical formations between 1960-1962 for Radio Zurich and Radio Basel. „Unreleased LP“ following her great „Sweetest Sound“ and „Atlantis Blues“ albums, with fine arrangements for trio (with Siro Bianchi, Fritz Stähli or Kenny Schmidt) and even jazz orchestra on some recordings, including such greats as “I Remember Clifford”, „But Not For Me“, „Fly Me To The Moon“, „Secret Love“ and „Misty“. Completely vanished promo-10inch Lp plus Ep by Swiss jazz trio of saba/ mps fame. Remastered studio tracks from the atlantis club in basel 1962 with unique artwork including unreleased photos and interview. After their only legendary Lp-release "The Sweetest Sound" on Brunner-Schwers German Saba label in 1965, the highly talented musicians from Zurich seemed to fade into eternity. Nothing else was reported until recently, except for the rumour of an odd 10inch Lp pressing from some legendary recordings made in 1962 at the Atlantis Club near the Klosterberg of Basel in Switzerland.

Isaac Hayes' stint with Polydor in the late '70s isn't always looked at as being one of his better eras. In fact, it's not looked upon highly at all by many of his fans. It's important to keep in mind, though, that Hayes had already seen enormous success and had released a sizable amount of legendary albums by the time the late '70s came around. In this respect, you really can't expect his later work to be on par with his classic early-'70s era with Stax no one could one-up albums like Shaft and Black Moses. Plus, the late '70s wasn't a kind era for any early-'70s soul icons as disco and funk moved black music from behind closed doors and into the clubs. Hayes had learned this the hard way during his short-lived mid-'70s run with ABC Records where he struggled to even chart, not to mention score a big hit.
