The Bone Keeper

Based on the legendary and gruesome EC Comics from publisher William Gaines, this horror anthology featured stories of murder, the super natural, gore and humor and always had a twist ending of sorts. Some of Hollywood's biggest names took part, either working in front or behind the camera. Hosting duties fell to everyone's favorite decaying corpse, the Cryptkeeper. The success of this series spawned a Saturday morning cartoon series (Tales From the Cryptkeeper), a short-lived Saturday morning game show on CBS (Secrets of the Cryptkeeper's Haunted House) and lots of merchandise. Two feature films (Demon Knight and Bordello of Blood) were also produced and released in the late 90's. The TV series originally aired on HBO, but was later syndicated to Fox, the Sci-Fi Channel, and most recently AMC. This 20-disc set includes all seven seasons.

This six-CD collection contains all the recordings made by Woody Herman & the Second Herd beginning in 1948 and ends with the Woody Herman Orchestra (the Third, Fourth, and Fifth Herds) in 1956. As a record of Herman's activity and accomplishments, it far outweighs what the First Herd was able to pull off in the swing era. That band ended in 1947. Herman was looking to embrace the energy and the harmonic conception and rhythmic inventions of the beboppers who were beginning to make their indelible mark on the jazz scene of the late '40s. Herman was looking for a band that could not only play tight, quick, harmonically advanced charts, but for musicians who were able to improvise freely and creatively in light of the size of the band and the new material.

George Thorogood is the quintessential American blues-rock guitarist. In a career that spans more than three decades, he has led his band The Destroyers to the very pinnacle of the blues pyramid spawning such classic tracks as "Bad To The Bone", "I Drink Alone", "Get A Haircut" and "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer" among others. This new album sees him honing his talent even further on new self-penned tracks such as "The Hard Stuff" and "Any Town USA", and a selection of classic covers such as John Lee Hooker’s "Huckle Up Baby" and Fats Domino’s "Hello Josephine", all given the unmistakeable Thorogood treatment.
