The Vienna Boys 'Choir specializes to a certain extent in Strauss: Strauss' music means Vienna, is the sung business card of the Waltz City. Since the 1920s, the waltzes and polkas of the Strauss family have been an integral part of the concert repertoire of the Vienna Boys' Choir. Six times they were guests at the traditional New Year's Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic. The first recording of the Donauwalzer with the Vienna Boys Choir was made in 1933. Stories from the Vienna Woods were recorded in 1937, and a whole record with Strauss appeared in the USA in 1939; the last one appeared in 1999. High time for a new edition!

The renowned Saint Thomas Choir of Men and Boys record a fitting tribute to their former Choirmaster and Organist Gerre Hancock (1934-2012). In this post for over thirty years, he was a pivotal figure in the choir's rejuvenation and created a wealth of choral and organ music during his career – much of it composed for friends and colleagues across the USA.
The performances are led here by Jeremy Filsell, their present Organist and Director of Music, with additional accompaniment from Benjamin Sheen (Associate Organist) and Nicholas Quardokus (Assistant Organist), and the Saint Thomas Brass ensemble.The Saint Thomas Choir of Men and Boys is considered to be the leading ensemble of its kind in the Anglican choral tradition in the United States. While its primary raison d’être is to sing five choral services each week, the Choir also performs regularly with Orchestra of St. Luke’s and New York Baroque Incorporated as part of Concerts at Saint Thomas.

On this recording, the Choir of Men & Boys sings the Lutheran chorales preceding Bach’s organ settings. There are five organs in the church of this recording, three of which reside in the church space; the Miller-Scott Dobson Chancel organ (2018), the rear gallery Loening-Hancock mechanical action instrument, built by Taylor & Boody (1996), and the Martha J. Dodge continuo organ built by Taylor & Boody (2001).

Dunedin Consort continues to apply its pioneering approach to recordings by releasing two alternative performing versions of one of Handel’s greatest dramatic works, Samson. This is the Full Chorus Version.
This version employs an authentic Handelian chorus, comprising both boy trebles from the Tiffin Boys' Choir and solo sopranos – a sonority largely unheard in the modern age.

The Chorus is the original soundtrack of the 2004 Academy Award and Golden Globe-nominated film The Chorus (original title: Les choristes) starring Gérard Jugnot, François Berléand, Kad Merad and Jean-Baptiste Maunier. The original score was composed by Bruno Coulais and performed by Les Petits Chanteurs de Saint-Marc and the Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra. The album won the César Award for Best Music Written for a Film and was nominated for the BAFTA Award for Best Film Music (but lost to the score of Los Diarios de Motocicleta). The song "Look To Your Path" (original title: "Vois Sur Ton Chemin") was nominated for an Academy Award.
