Colossus Projects is the new project designed by Colossus, the Finnish Progressive Music Association. But this time, there's only one band involved: the band members are keyboards player Alfio Costa (Prowlers & Tilion), bass player Roberto "Bobo" Aiolfi (Prowlers & Tilion), drummer Giovanni Giana Vezzoli (Prowlers) and singer Hamadi Trabelsi. With a big help from some Italian friends and with some international special guests, the musicians wrote their first album "The Empire And The Rebellion" (2008). As you may guess, this work is inspired by "Episode IV" in the original "Star Wars" saga…

Rick Wakeman - The Seven Wonders Of The World (1995). This instrumental song cycle sets out to capture the particular mood of each of the seven marvels of the ancient world and the atmosphere of their individual time and place in our history. Each track is prefaced by a short narrative delivered by the actor Garfield Morgan. The strong modern orchestral rock style has been created entirely on digital keyboards and features the renowned Wakeman dexterity throughout…
The Colossus projects have become real landmarks, as far as good ol' vintage Progressive rock music is concerned! This project jointly published by the Musea label and the finnish magazine Colossus is called Giallo!, and subtitled "One Suite For The Murderer". That Progressive rock concept-album has been inspired by the famous film by Dario Argento called "Deep Red" (1975). The story has been divided in three chapters, and each band participating has chosen one, to make a suite inspired by it. Add to this a short "intro" and "outro" performed by Alfio Costa on keyboards. The latter is also featured in the first track, performed by Dark Session, an offshoot of the Italian band Tilion. Leviathan and Floating State are the two other artists featured in this disc…
Responding to the big demand, the joint-venture between Colossus (The Finnish Progressive Music Association) and Musea proudly presents its concept-album: "The 7 Samurai - The Ultimate Epic". Here's a Progressive rock concept-album inspired by the famous film by Akira Kurosawa (1954). The story has been divided in three chapters, and Consorzio Acqua Potabile (Italy), Tempano (Venezuela) and Taprobran (Italy) have been chosen to interpret one track. The total length of each suite is around 25 minutes. The sound remains faithful to the spirit of the Seventies Progressive rock music: original keyboards (Hammond organ, Moog, Mellotron, Fender Rhodes, Grand Piano etc.) are favoured, and the bands avoid loops, drum machines or other Eighties and Nineties digital sounds.
