Veteran Swedish progressive rockers The Flower Kings released the first part of a career spanning boxset titled ‘A Kingdom of Colours (1995-2002)’ late last year, covering the period starting with ‘Back in the World of Adventures’ to ‘Unfold the Future’ over the course of 10 discs. Now they are pleased to announce the release of ‘A Kingdom of Colours 2 (2004 – 2013) which covers the albums from ‘Adam & Eve’ to ‘Desolation Rose’ and also includes 3 discs of bonus material dating back from 1995. As with the first part of the boxset, there is a brand new interview with band leader Roine Stolt conducted by journalist Dom Lawson (The Guardian, Prog Magazine), giving a history of this period of the band’s existence.

It was based on a libretto by Newburgh Hamilton, who based it on Milton's Samson Agonistes, which in turn was based on the figure Samson in Chapter 16 of the Book of Judges. The Vintage Blues Box is a carefully planned journey around the blues world of the 1920s, '30s and '40s. Listeners who take their seat in Big Bill Broonzy's rockin' chair are booked for a ride across the American South, from the Carolinas throungh Mississipi to Texas, then north to Chicago. This was blues country in those days (some of it still is, especially Chicago), and there will be singers, guitarists, pianists and harmonica-players at every stop.

An elegant and sophisticated pianist, his encyclopedic harmonic approach and wide range of his repertory made him one of the most distinctive jazz pianists to come out of Chicago, gaining the respect of local and visiting musicians for his notable mastery of the instrument.
