The Twelve Week Year

Ari Hest released one song each week for a year in his project 52. Upon completion of the the project, fans voted for their favorites among the 52. The finished result is "Twelve Mondays", an album comprised of 12 superbly crafted songs driven by emotion, rich vocals, and great guitar work. There is not a single weak song on this album, each one evokes a different mood upon listening.

Machito (born Francisco Raúl Gutiérrez Grillo, February 16, 1908? – April 19, 1984) was an influential Latin jazz musician who helped to refine Afro-Cuban jazz and to create both Cubop and salsa music. He was raised in Havana alongside the singer Graciela, his foster sister.
