The Weddings Collection

Explores the treasures of the Johnston Collection in Wick, a unique archive of near 50,000 photographs that provide an enthralling insight into more than a century of Highland history. From 1863 to 1976, three generations of the Johnston family ran a photography business in Caithness, documenting the social history of northern Scotland.

The Gipsy Kings are a group of flamenco, salsa and pop musicians from Arles and Montpellier in the south of France, who perform in the Spanish language with an Andalusian accent. Although group members were born in France, their parents were mostly gitanos, Berber-Moroccan and Spanish gypsies who fled Catalonia during the 1930s Spanish Civil War. They are known for bringing Catalan rumba, a pop-oriented music distantly derived from traditional flamenco music, to worldwide audiences. The group originally called itself Los Reyes. Their music has a particular rumba flamenca style, with pop influences; many songs of the Gipsy Kings fit social dances, such as salsa and rumba. Their music has been described as a place where "Spanish flamenco and gypsy rhapsody meet salsa funk".

Some of the most distinctive female voices of the 1960s were captured on tape in New York studios: Arlene Smith of the Chantels, Dionne Warwick, Cissy Houston, Ronnie Spector – you know instantly when you're hearing these women. Add to that list Brenda Reid, whose great soul shout fronted the Exciters. To be a singer was the girlhood dream of Lillian Walker. In her teens she started several groups with her friend Sylvia Wilbur, but the other girls involved just didn't last the course. Then Brenda came along. With the addition of Carol Johnson and Herb Rooney the group was complete. After a 45 as the Masterettes in early 1962, Sylvia left and the group came to the attention of Leiber & Stoller, who renamed the group the Exciters. Their first single – the Bert Berns-written ‘Tell Him’, released on United Artists – became a huge hit, but their follow-ups didn't achieve the same success, not even their fabulous original version of ‘Do-Wah-Diddy’.

Above the album worked the 'The Best Mother's Day Album In The World…Ever!', and his release took place on 2021. The album has got songs with a total duration of more than an hour. A compilation is a compilation of original music.

Kelsey fell in love with music when she was very young, and was improvising songs even before she learned to read. At age five, she began classical piano training, and learned to balance form and technicality while developing her own voice as an artist. Growing up, her family always had music playing in the house, and she spent a great deal of her childhood playing songs by ear. She also was captivated by the beautiful nostalgic melodies of jazz standards and the lush harmonies of classic musicals and old Disney movies, and enjoyed making her own arrangements.
